  1. Re:MST3K? on Joel and Original Cast of MST3K Riding the Cinematic Titanic · · Score: 1

Mike moved to San Diego earlier this year for his Rifftrax gig. In fact, he had to evacuate his home due to the wildfires.

Geography aside, I'm intrigued how the former cast has turned out. They get axed from SciFi, go their separate ways, do side projects with varying levels of success. Then, almost a decade later, what happens? Jim Mallon brings the bots back, and just about every former writer is involved with a project that takes bad movies and makes fun of them. The circle is complete.

My only wish is that, rather than doing these 4 different projects (Rifftrax, Film Crew, Cinematic Titanic, New MST3K?), that they would come together and let their powers combine. I've seen the Film Crew DVDs, and they're OK. It just seems that if they've all decided to do pretty much the same thing, why compete? Why not pool all that talent and re-live the glory days?

    Here's hoping.

  2. Re:MST3K Anything on What's the Worst Movie You've Ever Seen? · · Score: 1

Personally, I think Beast of Yucca Flats was MUCH worse than Red Zone Cuba for one simple reason: No plot. Many movies claim to have no plot, Beast of Yucca Flats perfected it. The entire plot was a mutated guy walking around Nevada. That's it.

However, I don't believe that the worst movie of all time was an MST movie. The worst movie, in all likelyhood, was a movie that they screened but rejected. They've stated before that they had to pick movies that had things happen so they could make fun of it. I can only imagine the gems they witnessed in that screening room but passed up.

I agree, those are the greatest. However, I prefer the Mystery Science Theater version, with phrases like... "Bite Me" "Owwie Owwie Owwie" "Like a Brother" "My Needs" and my personal favorite "It's Blue"

Amen to that. Just another Hallmark Holiday. I'm sure they've made billions off of all the holidays they've created.

Actually, it's been out for only a year and a half. And the article in question was written just around the release of both the Box and the Cube. So, say it had been out 1 year. It still doesn't change the fact that these are previews: Games that are soon to be released, not games that are already so. Still, assuming the 5% rule (5% of games released are good), that would mean 3 GC, 7 XBox, and 15 PS2 games of quality in the near future. And most of those will be released around Christmas. They usually are.
