Do you have to play the beginning of the tape to prove to the player that that the tape is valid?
Or is there something built into the case of the tape that the player sees?
Or is there a code embedded in the information at all times?
Because the more information there is at the client then the easier it is to cheat.
For example
1) If the maps are client side, I can look at them and see things my opponent and the server don't think i can see.
2) If the rules are client side, I can subvert them. "Hello server, I'm now moving at 100mph and I have 3,000,000 ammo."
Aren't there allegedly hidden caches of suitcase sized nuclear weapons all over the place. They're the scary ones that you don't want being found by the wrong people.
Therefore I won't mind carrying 2 of them. One proprietary one with which to phone my friends. And one open one, on which to play MP3s. We know the encryption will be broken with high-tech methods or low.
If there's a market for an open player, then there are millions of people with the skills to make them.
How does that work on tape?

Not really off-topic, IMO.

Okay ... so their dropped capitals are images. Tossers. I'm sure you can work out what the first word of each section is meant to be.
It doesn't sound like open source intelligence at all.
The sources are still secret - but some of the results are made public faster.
But did anyone really expect open intelligence sources?
Good point ... in the ideal world, no-one, obviously.
In the real world, where suitcase sized nukes apparently exist, the right person to own one is someone that doesn't bear a grudge against me.

I don't think so.
A previous discussion here.

See, what you have to do is use a bit of initiative and, when searching for stuff, replace "portland, or" with "rochester, ny".
It's easy when you get the hang of it.
Easy
"Where do you put the extra length? In the ocean? "
The other end is in orbit, it can easily move nearer or further the earth
It has to be the equator - the other end has to be in geosynchronous orbit.
We're already slowing down because of the moon's tidal effects - the length of a day is increasing by 1.7 milliseconds per century.
Can sending a few tons of stuff into orbit have a bigger effect than the moon?
We're getting science news from the TV now are we?
Heaven help us!

It's free & it contains what you'll need to know.
Finding info is tricky sometimes; nothing's perfect.
I have to ask - what is the creationist argument against this bush? It's twice as old as the universe.
I'd have voted for Barbara
elevate it above ISPs' and end users' spam filters
They're putting in digital signatures and links to their verification programme.
This makes their worthless spam easier to filter, not harder.
Thanks guys!
Your symbol, especially the small versions, can be misinterpreted as two symbols.
The first would be the O in a circle that I don't recognise. The 2nd is the © that is familiar.
Therefore I would assume that this mean something new as well as traditional copyright instead of your intended 1 new thing.
Isn't this one of those features that depends on public awareness and critical mass?
People will realise they want/need it when they see their friends with it.
Or it will fail to take off and disappear.
If it doesn't achieve the initial craze phase (and it obvioulsy hasn't yet)then it will never get anywhere.
