Read an article in the last month or so about the extremely sad state of IT affairs in the FBI. Generally they receive other government agency PC throw aways as their UPGRADE machines. What, are they using 386 processors now? Also, they raid their IT budget for other uses -- the last $90 million raid went to their travel budget. Knowing this, the incompetence they exhibit with Carnivore should not be surprising.
Free Market? Excuse me? I have one choice for Cable -- AT&T. I have one choice for local phone service -- SBC. I have one choice for Broadband Cable -- AT&T. I have no choices for DSL. How exactly is this a free market when the FCC limits which companies can offer service in my area? If you want a real free market, get the FCC to either enforce the rules of the 1996 telecom act requiring local providers to open their markets or have Congress rewrite the rules. Me, I won't hold my breath. Political contributions from Fortune 500 companies always win out over the desire of the people.
I can count on one hand the liberal beliefs I've heard on Fox news. I believe that across the board Fox is the most conservative of all network news, which is something these days as most TV has become much more conservative. Something to do with media consolidation and big business. So to see this on Fox is not surprising.
Now print media, you get a much fuller spectrum.
