w0w! fucktard. That sure is clever. Anyway, seeing as how this isn't a Linux site, that sure seems kinda strange. It never was a Linux site, the only Linux influence is the owners love of Linux and the fact that OSDN was once a major part of VA Linux Systems. However, you, being the proverbial genious with the huge comprehension of the English language, should have known that. Seeing as how in the last four posts I have made, I have somehow managed to get my karma lowered to -3, noone will probably ever read this post.
The only intelligent thing you have mentioned at all in the above post was going to BSDToday. I am going to do just that. Fuck Slashdot and the idiotic Linux kiddiots.
VA Systems is no longer VA Linux systems. Shouldn't slashdot be posting a wider variety of things now instead of just mindless Linux drivel? I keep submitting BSD news and other such things, but they keep getting rejected. Odd...

Ok smartass. The service that was being discussed was.NET. Passport is a PART of.NET(a major part). Adding to the discussion by sharing my views on why I will not support Passport(and.NET integration with Passport) is a valid area of discussion when concerned with.NET. When you educate yourself a little further on.NET and all of its implications as a technological strategy of service integration, then you have the right to moderate me down in a discussion dealing with the.NET strategy.

Ok, now THIS post is offtopic. Whoever the fucking moron is who fucked me over by modding me down is a fucking idiot. In no way was my above post offtopic. If I hadn't been modded down, then I might have enough karma to be invited to Meta-Moderate, in which case I would have rammed that stupid moderation down your ass. The topic was on.NET, which is a STRATEGY of providing standardized webservices on the Internet. Microsofts front cash cow of promoting and utilizing.NET IS their Passport system. By voicing an opinion of mine that was CLEARLY on topic, and then being modded down this shows one of two things:
The moderator is a moron who knows absolutely nothing on the topic.
There is a problem with the moderation system and things should change
I know this is a stale, trite argument that is not going to do anything, but seriously. I post and read Slashdot daily because so far, none of the moderation problems have affected me. I didn't realize how serious the problems were. This site is geared towards a community of individuals with a slightly higher level of intelligence, but this system seems to be degrading to a level of absolute un-usability.
Make Corrections As Needed
I just don't like Passport.

I hate the idea that only one password gets me into everything. Do I want to trust Microsoft to be the weakest link in my security scheme? I don't have much faith in their security products thusfar, what is to insure that their password DB isn't cracked and everything I use is exploited because of it.
I prefer my internal(memorized) password list.

WHAT? When was the Family Guy cancelled? I LOVE that show. Fuck TV. I am seriously going to stop watching. First they make big deals about PVR's for us poor guys who work late hours, and then they cancel all the shows that PVR's helped me actually see?
You mentioned that PVR's change the data as well as the timeshifting factor, but this is not the case. VHS can ALSO let you skip commercials just by pressing the stop button during the recording. I do think I remember seeing some special VHS recorders in the past (at high prices mind you) that would actively monitor the content and stop the recording when the content changed, but I don't remember if that is my imagination or if those devices were successful.
It just seems like this is an easy way for the TV companies to try to maintain stiff control over better devices that make TV better. Recording without commercials is a major time saving device. If you watch an hour of TV each night, this can save up to 15 minutes of your time.
As consumers who get the television free for recording on our VCR's, we should have the right to record on whatever medium we want. The whole idea that the companies are against is the nice fact that we don't have to watch the crappy commercials. This feature was ALREADY included in VHS, just with a little more effort. Control of what we watch is the issue here, not the actual practice of recording. Total crap if you ask me.

What kind of prices do we need for a simple Mindstorms kit? Are they actually decent? What kind of OS and interface is needed to interface with the system's programming and design?
I am guessing proprietary windows software... right?

By advances, I was talking in general. Is there any type of systems developed for consumers that can make decisions based on outside input and make physical reactions based upon a large set of rules or guidelines. The generalized question was to ask if there were any robots or mechanized devices that can be purchased at affordable prices( Beyond your average "Programmed to go towards light, then programmed to bark" kind of robot you described.
