A colleague of mine recently bought a copy of Windows XP from Micro$oft in Seattle whilst on a business trip up there. It cost $20 (which in English pounds is peanuts).
But buy it from here and it's rediculous!
id say most of that is BOLLOCKS. At which part does drawning to the screen require ur HD? or ur CDROM?
as was rightly said before, it is all down to the performance of ur GPU and the MEMORY it has any ur MOTHERBOARD has (incase the GPU memory isn't enuf).
the CPU does have some impact, but no where near as much as the GPU. for example, I can run most games on my AMD 800 with my gforce 4mx as well as i can on my AMD 1400 with my gforce 3 ti200.
and as far as defragging goes, that makes EVEN less difference.
After watching a documentry about the 60's space program with NASA I dont believe they ever went.
The evidence is startling to say the least!:)
But hey, apparantly Japan are going to put something up to find out in 2 years, so we will all know if the USA really did or not soon enough.
Personally, I hope they did make it all up:D
Well it isnt is it!? - If it was ready, the average Joe WINDOWS user would be able to get it working, and I know that they wouldnt. It has been released based on the fact that each package works, not that it will work integrated into the system that EACH user trys to install it under! - I installed it fine, and sure there are some things that could be improved, but no doubt, these will be cleared up in the next release of gnome / redhat.
Im assuming that by this you mean you have problems getting it to work!? Did you ever consider that this may be because of your lack of understanding of GPLd software.
If approx. 40-50% of the world market uses Unix, I think your statement shows you know sweet FA about GPLd software.
AMEN: absolutely... one of the best mirrors around!

You must have been doing something wrong, i leave my client running for days and it NEVER disconnects. Also - id like to know how the server sucks? did you write it? Maybe you should buy the book so you can understand Jabber better, because it sounds like your talking about ICQ, which really gets up my arse.
adv for jabber:
1. open source
2. modulised
3. secure
4. logically well defined protocol
5. easily expandable language
6. based on xml
7. NOT OS specific
8. supports MORE chat protocols
adv for trillian:
1. it looks good
If someone writes software and decides that they want to make the source available providing anyone who uses their software includes the source to their project, as the GPL states, surely that is their decision and their own personal right.

Is this an issue?? Is the data allowed to be disclosed or is it protected by law because it is personal to the user?
