either that's a really silly (but technically valid) way of describing the error margin, or possibly, (and this is pure conjecture : I ain't no rocket scientist) the spacejunk can only enter the atmosphere in certain angles/orbits/what-have-you. So it can only get thru at a certain point in its orbit, equating to a particular time of day. give or take a few days
next week: analog radio to be phased out
on
GNU Radio
·
· Score: 1
don't worry kids, the introduction of digital radio and subsequent shut down of analog will prevent any fair u, Erhm, unauthorised distribution of copyrighted content.
Joe Schmo: but won't that mean I have to fork out
$$$ on a new receiver? RIAA exec: yes, but the new one has an LCD display
that shows you the song title!
Since the current use of the word `bug' in computer speech comes from the supposed bugs that caused errors in the valve-driven mainframes of old, imagine what sort of computer errors u'd get if one of these babies was let loose inside the server room; all the techies would be up on the tables trying to kill them with bits of computer paraphenalia lying around...
can't wait for corporations to start patenting and modifying parts of the gene so they can start suing farmers for growing _their_ rice. GM Canola is a good case study for this sort of thing - pollen from GM crops was carried by the wind into adjacent farms, then the biotech companies sued the farmers on whose farms it landed on to 'licsense' the crop. It is now thought impossible to grow organic canola in Canada because of contamination from GM canola.
what's wrong with toast? I have it for breakfast every morning... If the linux desktop is like toast, then a lot of people use it every day... lord knows I do
I guess the thing to remember is: if it works, don't fsck with it.ask urself if the upgrade is really worth it? sure, security upgrade are damn important, but otherwise, its often better to stick with what u'v tweaked to work properly and wait for a _major_ new release to upgrade (unless, of course, ur running debian, where upgrades are easy and painless)
I would have thought compensation in a `just and reasonable' manner in the open source world would be contributing source code to the open source world. Isn't that the purpose of the GPL?
ur current fan has (IIRC) 3 magnets. magnetic force is an inverse cube relationship. so beyond an inch, even a really strong magnet that size has negligible effect. Oh, and ur hard disk is only affected by changing magnetic fields. A stationary field like that will do nothing.
bah... I just wrote a webserver for a _windows XP_ box. try beating that.

may be so, but OSX/Darwin (BSD core) is on the way up. So BSD ain't quite dead, just evolving
