This idea is just dumb. All people benefit from space exploration, whether directly or indirectly. Because the benefits aren't obvious to this guy, he believes there are none. Why does NASA always seem to be the whipping boy of conservative politicians? I guess we need another sex scandal to occupy their time!
Plenty of people use OOP every day to solve all different kinds of problems, end of story. This same discussion happens at least once a month on Slashdot.
Please stop posting these kinds of questions, because it just baits everyone into another useless OOP war.
What's the difference between a site that posts the name of abortion clinic doctors, and a site that posts the names of IRS workers?
Both sites encourage murder, but one is shutdown by the government while the other is given free speech rights. I believe they both should be considered free speech.
What about the computer that is publishing their remarks for the whole world to see?
What about the computers that are in their vehicles?
What about the computers that fly the airplane that they used to get to the conference?
What about the computer in their cell phone that allows them to call their spouses to complain about all of those sucky CS majors?
The whole world does not consist of a PC running Windows.
Talk about short sighted, these guys can't see past their desktops.
So what if my mom has to hit the "Start" button to shutdown her computer?
The only thing she uses it for is email, IM, and solitaire.
Her life does not revolve around that stupid PC.
If AOL doesn't want to open up their protocol, they shouldn't have to. If my place_your_own_relative's_name_here gets tired of seeing all of those ads on their IM client, they will switch services. If they realize that they can't talk to everyone in the family, they will switch services. This is what the free market is all about.
If AOL keeps their system closed, they lose. We shouldn't keep reminding them of that fact.
Save yourself some money and rent Mission Impossible 1. It was a lot more fun. MI2 seemed a little too generic. It will make for a better rental (when you can fast forward through the stupid romantic scenes).
Just report the children of all North Carolina state and local representatives. If you demonstrate how damaging this W.A.V.E. idea is, I'm sure they will squash it in a hurry.

Do you think the judge would have ruled the same way had his name been on the list?

Does G.W.Bush believe that, had his father (former President Bush) been a better leader, he would not have abused drugs?
At least he can't blame Clinton.
Just remember, MP3.com is choosing to license music from Sony.
Don't feel sorry for MP3.com. They obviously feel that they can make enough money to justify these kinds of deals.

What about all those nifty passwords that are stored as cookies?
