I think the basic answer to "If Verdi had...would he be John Greschak?" is a resounding "No". Verdi wrote pieces people wanted to listen because they were musical, rather than being a mathematical curiosity. Of course there's lots of maths in music - the trick is working out which bits sound good, rather than look good when explained on a resume / arts application grant:)
I remember when working on "Summer Games" on the C64, there was a billboard ad for Coke. The execs weren't happy that we didn't have the exact shade of Coke corporate red...we had to explain that this would involve Commodore making a whole new graphics chip...:)

Nope, it's not...'lose' has been bugging me for years now. It seems a simple algorithm - if you're under 30, you spell it 'loose'. I bet it's something to do with the big phonics vs real-words argument:)
