    If staffed by a crew that understands and is supportive of fellow service people, the stress levels can be reduced a bit.

    Is this an argument for or against women on subs? They are just as aggressive as men, just more indirect.

    I probably can. This means that I could probably get in one, take off, fly in a big circle and possibly land without killing myself (landing's the hard part). If I was rated on a medium sized prop plane, I'd upgrade that to 'definitely'. Still doesn't tell you if I'm at all smart.

    A person getting into a car and deliberately circumventing a system that has already told them quite clearly that they are over the limit could not, or certainly could not nearly as easily.

    Suppose the system was out of alignment? It isn't maintained regularly, and is likely to be even less reliable than the breathalyzers are. If I had something like that that acted up (or I was diabetic), damn right I'd circumvent it.

    No, in most parts of the country, houses are $100-$200k. Regardless, the more common millionaire valuation excludes home equity, since it's not liquid. FYI, I'm basing my claims on the millionaire next door - very informative book.

    Oh, I don't know... restricting the amount of consolidation of media portals would probably be helpful. Of course, restricting content or requiring any sort of prior review is right out.

    As the son of a musician, a musician myself, and in a word yes. Many artists live the 'starving artist' lifestyle because it is generally not a line of work with which you can make any money at all.

    Is that going to change at all as a result of added fees for, um, copying files around my personal network?

    Won't the market eventually handle this issue.

    Screw the market. There are ground rules, and some things are just not allowed. Randomly searching people for daring to come into your theatre should be one of them.

    Having work a short time in music promotions I know a number of venues that require searches upon entry and personally never felt there was a problem with it.

    Gee, some people like to bring knives into the club. That isn't common in a movie theatre, and they weren't searching for those things anyway.

    You're presupposing that their policy carries legal weight. It may not.

    Alternatively, the very meaning of conservative is that you want to slow change - if you have the same ideas for 20 years, likely a good portion will be implemented and then supplanted. This leaves you with a position that, while unchanged, has fallen behind the bulk of social change. This isn't specific to any time period, although the 50s were somewhat staid in their attitudes.
