People think that a study that uses statistical wizardry to show correlations between two things is 'scientific' because it uses high school math and was done by someone in a university building
"And here we see that increasing CO2 levels is causing increasing global temperatures..."
5) Humans produce more CO2(and other green house gasses) then can be absorbed through the cycle. Testable? Yes. Tested? Yes.
Test results? Missing carbon sinks. Well known fact that you glossed over. Every time you guys do that, you lose credibility. You can't convince skeptics by lying through omission.
Go ahead and do lots of work with almost no chance of payment. If you don't win, you don't get anything, no matter how much time you put into it. That works out really nicely for Google. That doesn't work out so well for every contestant except for the one who wins.
Well then, I guess I'll be purchasing gold coins to stash. Leaving much money in the bank seems like a really big liability after reading this article.
Sorry AC, you need to check your own facts. The largest chunk of the bailout went into buying GSE Mortgage backed securities. You know, all the bad debt these investment firms had invested in. Yeah, the government bought those bad debts. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will likely be paying back on the bailout well into the next decade as a result.
The only business I have with Chase is a single credit card account. I'll be closing that as soon my next payment on it clears. I'm also going to be thinking very hard about finding a European bank to move my money into.
google pays 14%, and how many millions or billions of dollars is that? The bottom 50% pay 0 in taxes, perhaps they should be paying 14%... oh they make no money at all?
You're not very good at math, are you? 14% of $0 is $0. Idiot.
well then perhaps they shouldnt use the roads either...
Perhaps next time you start a war, you can go fight it yourself instead of sending poor people off to die for you, cock gobbler.
So, did you send Uncle Sam a bit extra on your taxes last year?
Yep. I actually pay a little extra every year, just so I can tell assholes like yourself to fuck off. Any other pearls of wisdom that you have to share, dickhead?
How does Google employees waiting at bus stops cost the city money? Where's this loss coming from that Google must compensate for? Or is this just knee-jerk hostility from the usual suspects?
What tax bracket were you in 2012? Did you pay 20%? 25%? Maybe 33%? Google pays 14%. So Google, who proudly avoids billions in taxes, wants to use publicly funded bus stops, roads, police services, and more. Google is the very definition of freeloader. Has it occurred to you that those kids (along with others all over the country that Google will not be helping) might not be so poor if the government services set up to help them had not gone unfunded due of lack of tax revenue? Now Google throws a few kids in SF a bone to the tune of a few thousand dollars and that makes Google a shining community member again? Fuck Google and fuck you for defending them.
You seem to conclude that capturing and burning methane to prevent it from entering the atmosphere is unreasonable.
"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." -- George Bernard Shaw
All you know how to do is parrot what other alarmists tell you. You think inside a closed little box. You can't reason a way to do things for yourself, so you let others do the reasoning for you. You declare the obvious answer to be impossible, rather than work out a way to make it happen. In short, you are a spectator. You are a nobody who shouts jeers from a faceless mob. You guys would circle jerk with your mod points while the whole world burns around you rather than fix a problem with persistence in the face of adversity. I gladly distance myself from a group like yours. Your lack of critical thinking skills, imagination, and initiative predicts what contribution you are capable of making.
Several scientists are predicting a 20C increase by 2050 if the methane is allowed to escape into the atmosphere, which is essentially a planetary extinction event. The only thing that seems likely to prevent this scenario is total economic collapse, immediately.
Or, I don't know... capture it and burn it as fuel? The problem with you climate alarmists is you lack critical thinking skills.
Sounds like you are falling for an obvious diversionary tactic. Kerry is in Indonesia. Indonesians are pissed at the USA for spying on them. Kerry decides to talk about climate change and lobs around hyperbola like "weapon of mass destructions threating your way of life!!11ONE!!!1"
I'm actually pretty excited about this SoC. The problem with Tegra 4 is it is not available on anything but a couple of Chinese phones and those don't even come with the software defined radio. The other problem is that it is not CUDA. K1 is CUDA, so presumably, I should be able to install the CUDA Toolkit along with something like rpud and take maximum advantage of those 192 cores. I'll definitely wait for the 64-bit variety and hope for a phone with >4GB of RAM. I'll probably get the 64-bit one. Hopefully there will be a phone with the SDR this time. It would be mind blowing awesome if they'd give the SDR some open source love too.
The Big Bang - Because the universe appears to be expanding now, it must have been expanding always, since the beginning. Before the Big Bang, there was nothing and boom, out of nothing came everything.
Not to say I have a better theory, but I would not be the least bit surprised if one of those two things I've been told about the big bang were proven wrong. You suggest we should be believers in this everything from nothing theory without the least bit of skepticism?
It also opens up an avenue for flash votes. Not sure if that's good or bad, but it could enable new rules. President violates the 4th amendment rights of every person on Earth? Why wait years for it to get to the supreme court? Hold a public vote tonight. Vote his ass out and get a new guy tomorrow. Same goes for congress or any other public official.
Frankly, with >30% of the votes now coming from absentee ballots, I think you've already lost the coercion/buying votes battle.
I presume you support the current system since you admit to participating in it. Absentee ballots already provide an avenue for forced voting and over a third of the eligible votes were cast this way in the last presidential election. I think it is safe to say electronic voting, done properly, could be just as effective as absentee ballots.
Generally, the smarter a person gets, the more republican they tend to lean in ideology
I love how members of both parties believe they have superior intellect because they've chosen red or blue. It's too bad report cards stop after we leave school, because everyone in this country is a self proclaimed genius from the moment we stop getting them.

"And here we see that increasing CO2 levels is causing increasing global temperatures..."
Yep, coorelation != causation.
I think you mean rife.

Came here to say that. Would mod up. No points.
Stealing is wrong no matter the context.
Except when it applies to a Law Enforcement Backdoor, right? If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear... right?

Or it's bullshit to scare people away from tails. Have they demonstrated the exploit?
Well then, I guess I'll be purchasing gold coins to stash. Leaving much money in the bank seems like a really big liability after reading this article.
Or they sue you for libel. One of those two.

Really. Then how do you explain their closing Teagan Presley's personal account, and her husband's account?

I got tired of him when he endorsed DRM. That would be rule 1 and 2 for my web Magna Carta: No DRM.

where summer is the coldest time of the year
Do tell how summer is the coldest time of year AC. I'm sure we will all be enthralled with your derp.
Stop making things up... we can now 3D print working organs and implant them into patients
