I think Tablet PC's are aiming at a slightly different market to J2ME. Microsoft are competing against J2ME with their cut down version of Windows CE for mobile phones. But there's nothing to stop phones running this OS from running J2ME stuff as well.

I found the following quote from the article quite interesting:
"The drops are not designed to be split, The Internet product needs a dedicated feed so that it runs as efficiently as it's supposed to."
Here in the UK I have cable TV (digital although analogue signals come down the same line) and my cable modem runs off the same line from a slitter. I'm with NTL and I'm pretty sure Telewest (the other major UK cable provider) do the same thing.
Can anyone confirm that US cable providers use seperate lines for the cable modem and the TV? Why?
Games on phones (and more) that you can download have been around for a while. Sun's J2ME is implemented on quite a few mobile phones. I've got a Siemens SL45i that runs J2ME applications (not only games) pretty well. If you want a look at the sort of stuff available for these phones try midletcentral.com and Micro Java.
and having worked in support for a dial-up ISP I can tell you that it's fairly common to blame problems on the wrong kind of modem. I was told to always recommend 3Com modems.
According to this AT&T aren't doing so good. Could it be that they've decided to try and make some money? Yeah it's crap for those of you who have to pay an extra $7 a month or whatever but at the end of the day big companies are always gonna try and make money. I guess cable modem users are just an easy target.
So is/. going to replace Oprah as the new way to get book sales? Seems to be working for this dog book thing as it's in there at 27 in the Amazon sales rankings at the moment.

Try installing Mozilla, then go to the install directory and type regsvr32.exe mozctl.dll That what you're after?
I think any Celtic language in North America can be blamed on Prince Madoc (although he'd heard about American from Viking tales).
