    Why make up “theoretical”-based definitions?
    And why the pointless dichotomies?

    If it does fusion (no matter the size), it’s at least a brown dwarf, but a better name (star-like) would make more sense.
    The more it shines, the more of a star it is.
    Else if it orbits something it’s a planet. (That’s what the word means, after all.)
    If it doesn’t, it’s something that we don’t have a name for yet, but that we may also call a planet nowadays.
    No that does not mean that tiny star can rotate around a huge planet, since by definition there is no such thing.

    I see no point though, in arbitrary separations like “planet” “planetoid” “dwarf planet”, “asteroid”, etc.
    I’d only say that we have another gradient between the biggest and roundest planet possible, and the most non-uniform rock flying around. And between that rock, and a single molecule of matter. Also maybe a definition relative to the observer, about it being something that you could stand and walk around on without flying away.

    Uuum because Windows Update is software that has to have full control over the system to do its job of updating core system files. And because Firefox, being a normal user program and maybe not even running, can’t override a program with full access and rights to everything.

    It has been around for about 10 years in Japan. But Apple is the new Microsoft.     The sun does not have to shine 24 hours a day. The solution is piss-easy: Double the size of your solar power plant, and use the excess energy to pump water upwards into a reservoir. Then at night let it flow downwards again.
    There. Done. :)

    The combination of solar thermal power plants and those reservoirs is already in construction in all of Europe. I think it’s unbeatable in that the energy source is endless (about 5 billion years), and the whole thing can be built solely out of the most abundant materials on earth (iron, aluminium, glass,... that’s nearly it.) It’s cheap too. And can be placed as places nobody (not even animals and plants) want to live anyway.

    We already have a very impressive fusion reactor. It has a size of 1,392,000 km and is planned to run another five billion years. I think we should use that, and indeed I think we will, as soon as oil runs out.
    It will be hard to even remotely use that thing up.

    Uuum, it’s called Matroska (MKV), it’s already the dominant codec for HD videos in P2P file sharing, because of its feature-richness and because it’s basically binary XML, which is a neat thing.
    It’s made to be streamable, even with all the features you could ever imagine. Including 3D, as many streams of anything (video,audio,subtitles,etc) as you want, chapters, metadata, and arbitrary custom extended tags. So even if one client can’t use a extension, it will play.

    Google already likes it so much that they support a subset of it in Chrome. (Understandable, considering the number of features.)

    You don’t get it. It still works the other way around.
    Most people will have one more reason to stop using Linux when they want to use 64bit.
    If you converted some girl or your mother to Linux, and because you had a 64 bit CPU chose 64 bit Linux, prepare for her to complain until Flash works again.

    Flash games are important to users. Unless they work you can completely forget converting someone to (64 bit) Linux for now.

    There are better goals out there.

    If you have lots of children, and you die, you will survive trough them.
