You lucky lucky bastard! I have an allergy allergy. I get sick from people claiming they have allergies that will never ever be healable. (While I know for a fact that they are and have seen many allergies heal.)
And the believers only hung me the right way up yesterday!
Well A) Drive to a clinic with malaria patients, and offer them a potential cure? or B) Intentionally infect poor people with malaria for money, without them telling so.
What do you think is more likely, in the face of the current behavior of the disease industry?
No. Evolutionary, it is great. It means less money for those fanbois. Which means less success. Which can mean that little nudge over the edge of evolutionary success.:)
You mean as cool as "Oberst Sturmhart Eisenkeil"? (Colonel Stormhard Ironwedge.) That's a real name of a real guy here in Germany. He actually works with a guy, whose last same is "Killermann".
That's the really nice thing on Linux. You can recompile nearly all of your 13745 applications (current Gentoo Portage app count) for ARM, and do everything you want. Firefox, Amarok, VLC, OpenOffice, you name it...
Simple. I have already seen it working. You add an nVidia Tegra chip, any you still stay below 2 watt.
But Vista/Win7 really is pointless. On *any* computer.
On such a small system, Linux really can play its cards. Full HD + Flash in browser + 10 hours of battery life + nearly no heat = $100-$200. Out this fall.
You're laughing. But in some Arabic countries I'd recommend it to women.
But hey. Here in Germany, you're legal, as long as you got a sock over your dick and balls. (And you would only get people laughing a bit, or finding it interesting.) Try that in Alabama!
What you forget in your calculations, is that not only are those regulations usually only extremely expensive for those companies, who acted without a conscience in the first place, and now have to give *us* a big part of that money, instead of acting as if there were no consequences for their actions. But also that *we* often profit from it. Or the society as a whole. (Also in the long term.)
Also, when I read about how extremely expensive those completely unregulated markets is the US are (disease care, cellphone providers, cable tv and phone providers, etc), I wonder if that is any better.
I think: Why always freakin' go extremist?? Because it makes the media some money?? Really? Why not go somewhere sensible in between. Like a function with a parameter called "what do we all have from it?". Regulation where it does us good. No regulation where *that* does us good. It this so hard, or is it just that some people do not *want* us to have something?
Unfortunately he's right. But their method works. Because of people like you, that are unable to accept that reality, because then their whole life would have made no sense (which it didn't), and they would have to shoot themselves. Nobody can accept that.
Read a bit about how really good con jobs work. They work by the same method: You think that either, you can't be that dumb, or it can't be that big. If you link someone's whole system of values and self-confidence to something, and then destroy that something, they will outright ignore that it ever happened. They will lie even to themselves. Which protects you as a con artist better than any alibi you could ever think of.
I know that it works, because I have tested it. (On some real assholes. I'm not a jerk.)
Install an answering machine on your phone. Then it will even be cheaper when roaming is active.
Also, I have programmed my own answering machine / voicemail system in python. Including a blacklist, graylist, optional blocking of all anonymous call, optional blocking of everything except the selected phonebooks. And as the cherry on the cake, it works like a butler taking a call for me. It's very simple, and that is why it works so well. It even greets people with their own name, if I have them in my phonebook (I record the names).
A typical call would look like this: "Hello $name. Mr. $myName is not in the house right now. Can I take a message for him?" *waits for caller speaking* "Ok, I will relay that to him. Have a nice day." *click*

Amen. I drink a Schüttel-Shake to that! ("schüttel(n)" is the German word for "shake").
Let me guess: That's from that shooter-game for non-shooter-players called "Halo", right?
I wish there were a Halo vs. CPMA tournament. It would be very short, but very funny. :D
You forgot the absolute key catch in this thing, that pharma companies intentionally keep quiet about:
You only are immune to malaria as long as you pay them money by buying their pills and taking them.
When you are caught in it, it's the perfect extortion trap: Stop giving us money, and you DIE!
Who does this remind you of, hmmm?
Well
A) Drive to a clinic with malaria patients, and offer them a potential cure?
or
B) Intentionally infect poor people with malaria for money, without them telling so.
What do you think is more likely, in the face of the current behavior of the disease industry?
So it's nothing but the usual money-making-trough-actually-not-healing-but-making-addicted-scheme?
I KNEW it! Really! How could I even have a bit of doubt?
Someone deserves to die for this. Really! But not the malaria victims.
I'd say \0.
Maybe you should send one yourself.
And soon you will have a thousand botfriends. With very private photos. Your phonebook will be full. Aah how nice.
Only that now, you may get a call from some TLA(pple).
That is the weirdest thing ever. Like asking the one receiving a real paper letter, to pay for the transport too.
And it is soo easy to abuse, if you can submit SMS for free!
Luckily, here in Europe, this is looong (yeah, even longer than longcat!) gone.
And he was right! For *their* users.
In those cases, you actually get what you expect.
No. Evolutionary, it is great. It means less money for those fanbois. Which means less success. Which can mean that little nudge over the edge of evolutionary success. :)
No shit Sherlock? ^^
That was the very point of this "Union" that nobody with half a brain wanted.
...can a Dutch court rule something for a Swedish site??
(No, the EU is NOT a country, and never will be!)

That's a real name of a real guy here in Germany. He actually works with a guy, whose last same is "Killermann".
Too bad he's no evil overlord though. :/
Depends on what you define as "intelligent".
Survival is the metric for success. And if you are the one surviving, you define what "intelligent" means.
Try doubting it from your grave. ^^
And (our) insect( overlord)s by far rule this world. Their only problem: They don't know what "define" means. ;)

What do you think about that? :)
I don't need to ask. I can smell it right over the Atlantic ocean! :P
And drunk people on a philosophical streak. ^^

As they say: If you're up to your nose in shit, keep your mouth shut.
But you had to take a deep breath before starting to talk, didn't you? ;)
Well, there is the €U. And there is ¥apan too. ^^
Even £ondon joins the club.
P.S.: The Euro sign is the only one not accepted by Slashdot's system. (I used "€".)

If they hang up earlier, that's ok too.
