Consult the Underground Grammarian to see why it matters that a website devoted to complex technical subjects have the wit to use a spell-checker, or to find contributors who have read enough English to know the shape of common words. How many Slashdot readers would tolerate such sloppiness in their computer programs? Why then do they seem ashamed to condemn it in the language which communicates important technical developments?
