I pay 40 dollers a month for 2 mbit down 256k up from charter. only other option is 256k dsl for around the same price... might actualy be a better deal since i have to [as the bastards say]powercycle my modem about 2x a day.
Banff and Jasper parks in Alberta in the Rockies. the northwoods of Minnnesota ( especaily the boundry watters), Yellowstone. The olympic pennsula in Washington. and anywhere in brtish columbia and alaska.
None of these are "geeky" but for sheer natural beauty they are the best I've ever seen
I feel for you, my parents havent managed to learn how to turn their computer off in the 8 years they have had one, the whole "push the button, no thats the reset button, the larger button" does not take hold. it will never stop. i only wish there were gnomes involved with this, it would make it more amusing, because let's face it, gnomes make anything better
