The Read-ID thing was a rider on a military spending bill, that's only reason the vote was 100-0, because criticizing a "war time president" is a political death sentence. Your democracy is dead. By "you" I mean the U.S.

I'm addressing this to you and the several AC's below.
Calm down people!!! I'm amazed by the reactions
to this post. What's with the seatbelt apology? Is it in some kind of NRA pamphlet or something? If shit hits the fan, let's say, a rabid fox comes charging out of the woods, I know my neighbour has a rifle, so please rest assured that we are capable of bringing firepower to bear *snicker* on the local wildlife.
Regarding bear scat in the yard; It's a big yard. It's got several thousand acres of forest at the end of it. There are bears in the forest. There are dogs in the yard, and the dogs like chasing bears. Sometimes, early in the morning, the dogs are sleeping, and Mr Bear comes down from the forest to look for food and shit in the yard. I have no idea why this situation should require a shotgun, and I'm sure my neighbours agree. Bears don't eat children, they eat berries and fish. Bear attacks on humans are defencive, if it knows you are coming and it can leave, it will.
We take steps to keep our bears from becoming problem bears. No garbage outside, for example. If I'm camping food goes in a tree. But guess what? Unless I'm hunting, I DON'T CARRY A GUN!!!!! You know what you get when you start shooting all the wildlife? No wildlife. And, it would seem, a romantisized image of every mammal in the woods as a man-eater.
To Mr. "Where's-a-whiny-liberal";There's a 10 year old girl here with more bear sense than you.
Gees, yer nutin' buta buncha sissy, SUV drivin', latte sippin', shotgun totin', seatbelt wearin' geeks.
"Play-chan takes the form of a deluxe-sized Game Boy Advance cartridge that features a slot for an SD card. The cartridge plugs into either a GBA SP or DS (the original Game Boy Advance is, according to Japanese technology site Impress Watch, not supported) and includes a hardware decoding chip that brings the portable systems up to MPEG4 and MP3 specifications."
Which would seem to indicate that the DS is too underpowered to decode mp3 on its own.
The original XBox was basically an Intel PC. This device is not. The major problem this raises is that binaries will not work, so no flash, games or commercial apps. Still, at the probable price point it's peerless as a personal plaything.
You're forgetting that Microsoft will control the hardware on this device, and it will have strong Digital Rights Management. The ability to burn copies of stuff MS sold you onto a CD/DVD (that maybe only plays on an XBox?) then looks more likely.
Easy. Sell the console at a loss, with some kind of mechanism to ensure that only things we approve run on it, and make up the balance in game sales.
This has been the strategy in the console industry for a long time, and one reason why a easy to install, full featured Linux (or other OS) is anathema to the manufactures.
Jesus Christ. Are you retarded? Every PSP article, you show up with this joke. It was lame the first time, but this has to be what? 20 times? 30? OMFG please stop it. Please.
If you expect linux-on-a-DS to be anything more than a geeky proof of concept, you might want to hold off on buying one. Unfortunately, the DS is pretty underpowered, IIRC, it doesn't even have the power to decode mp3's in realtime....Still, the porting effort is coming along nicely, and the price is right. I'm waiting for linux-on-a-PSP, myself.
On that note, I've become convinced that the folks behind psp-linux.org are fools or scammers. Their posts in the forum show a deep lack of skills/knowledge (they thought they could start by hacking on debian-mips/had no knowledge of Magic Gate), they say "only a small minority is qualified for this project" (you have to apply to contribute), and they keep asking for donations to get the work done faster. I've posted some (polite) criticism on these points, and had my posts deleted.
Yes, they have to be the same processor. The chipset design assumes that both processes are equally capable. Last time I built a dual processor machine, it was recommended that the CPUs have the same stepping number (same batch off the line).
No, it's not well established. It's not "established" at all. It's bullshit quackery, right up there with magnetic healing, homeopathic 'medicine' and other frauds.
Whatever pal. Your paranoia is right in line with what we're talking about. "a suburban area with lots of woodland" is not where wolves are going to hunt your children.
I live in BC, in the woods. We have wolves, bears, and cougars. There was a steaming pile of bear shit in my yard 2 days ago. The thought of needing a shotgun to protect myself is ludicrous.
Democracy has been, since then, dead.
Next 'Ask Slashdot'; "Does anyone know if BonzaiBuddy runs on the internets?"

I concede. I guess I didn't recall correctly at all. OP is now "overratedX2".

You have to tap a button every 2 minutes to keep it on the screen.

Those guys are scammers or fools, I'm leaning towards scammer at this point.
That's an interesting statement about Nintendo, especially considering that the Nintendo console is always the cheapest on the market.....

These guys seem to be the ones to watch.
Actually, it's totally useless. It's a 404. But it's cool that you're figuring it out for next time....

I'm an atheist, and you, sir, are an asshole. What the hell does that have to do with this?
I'm going to agree with the other guy. You are an idiot. You're an idiot. Your idiocy is yours. Get it?
Get over it.
What "critisism of apple"? What are you implying? You're lucky I don't have mod points!!!
"free-range" implies grass fed.

You must be a real pleasure at a party....
