Holy wishfull thinking. That bird is _not_ talking, it's making some complex twittering vocalizations that the guy is reading a hell of a lot into. He says the bird has a vocabulary of 1000+ words, but the concepts the bird is chatting about imply far, far more smarts than that. And read the topics the bird talks about. It sounds like a new-age/Christian seminar. "Love one another" "Open your heart" "The mystrey of the after-life" (I'm making these up, as I'm too lazy to go back to the site to quote some).

Google news, OTHO, will be beta forever, because as soon as Google starts showing ads on the page, they lose fair use.

If we lose the dualistic model of "Good vs. Evil", it makes more sense. People aren't evil, but they might be doing 'wrong' things, that the majority of us can agree on.

The amount of hype that Sony has generated around the Cell is far more than MS has managed to scare up around the XB2. I'm certainly going to wait and see if Sony can deliver even half of the hype, because the P3 will be the machine to have if they do.

Note also that Sony delivered all the Emotion Enigines promised, minus the 3rd party hype. Game developers took a long time to deliver, though, as it was so hard to develop for.
