This is in hopes the author of that reply monitors replies to his own threads since maddeningly, there doesn't appear to be a flat out PM feature on here.. I sure can't seem to find any links that actually allow me to download stuff from there.. Did you (kai) actually manage to start an.asf downloading? I guess its somewhat irrelevant at this point but it would be fascinating if they'd managed to stay active for all this time..
Well I hate to dissapoint (I expect) a LOT of people, but I was chatting with a modder from teamBG and he told me pretty authoritively that there wasn't gonna be a sequel.. Reason: The creators of that D&D addon are not releasing any more licenses to it. Boy what a letdown, huh? I just recently played through it again because I'd quit 2/3s of the way in previously due to D2 and lack of HD space, and it is so clear from everything that happened that it was merely a prequel. Well, I for one am going to hold out hope, because it seems like Obsidian could figure out SOME way to talk 'em into it (once they get done with current projects), and I really feel like it NEEDS to be done.
Seriously? If they exist (excepting United Realms and D2Maniacs), I wanna know where to find them.. Link plz? Where can I go to snag the latest win32 build? Where can I find documentation to learn how to configure a server? Hook it up with the info, I know one of u slashdotters knows wasup!
As a longtime D2 fanatic, I must admit that when the subject for this article popped up on my nifty little Trillian RSS feed reader, I was feeling some trepidation.
Fortunately my concerns seem somewhat mollified. I gotta admit, I am one of those that still holds a grudge against Blizz for killing off (for the most part) BnetD.. Such a useful program, and one that is still used today by a few here and there to host servers to run some of the excellent mod options that are available for this game. OTOH, D2 remains a great game, one that some would argue revived the whole RPG genre, and I definately give blizz props for pioneering the first and still to this day pretty much only free service for playing online. I only wish more companies had followed thier lead, because no matter how much I yearn to play many of the available MMORPGs out there, I'll never commit myself to paying a monthly fee to play one.

Yup, Im hip to guild wars.. Dunno if I'm into the whole 'forced PVP' aspect of it, but it does sound kinda cool..
