We have a lab of these at my uni, which are used for Java and C++ development. They are a good little machine, and are well suited for development stuff. I think it's a good move from SUN and it should attract a lot of developers who want SUN programming (and administration) experience, without forking out for a server.
I'm in Australia and I know what the rating system is like, unless there is shitloads of swearing a movie will only get an M rating which is "Recommended for persons over the age of 15" so I doubt the linux source code will get banned.
You probably wouldn't have seen redhat on the shelf if it wasn't open source
