Killing soldiers in a war environment such as exists in much of Iraq and Syria is not terrorism. That's called war. Rounding up civilians and marching them out to have their heads cut off is. The reason they like doing the latter so much is that it's safe and, to their twisted minds, fun. Fighting soldiers on a battlefield they aren't so fond of. The soldiers have weapons and usually kill them. The terrorists like to stick to killing women and children....it's what they're good at.

Really? I watch and read every single day all kinds of objections to the way things are run in the USA. I've yet to see anyone sent off to rot in a prison for 20 years or so just for bitching about the government. I've seen miscarriages of justice but even these, once they get the light of public scrutiny shone on them generally get righted. Just because things aren't perfect hardly calls for such extreme accusations. In the old USSR, comrade, just the level of protest you've shown here would be enough for you to be interrogated about your crimes against the state.

Just what kind of proof are you looking for? The fact they openly state their desire to destroy the US and kill Americans isn't enough for you? The videos they proudly make and distribute where they round up people because they don't believe as they do and then behead them is not enough proof? The fact they encourage Islamic citizens of the US to join their Jihad and kill their neighbors isn't enough? What the fuck more do you need? I'm pretty ambivalent about a lot of the shit coming out of Washington D.C. but I've got to pretty much admit that ISIS and it's followers seem like terrorists. Convince me I'm wrong if you can.

Haiti decolonized because their masters had become so horrible that the system could no longer continue. When you drive people beyond a certain point they revolt. The terror of retribution is outweighed by the misery of continuing under the system. Never drive people to the point death is preferable to life under the lash. So now you have a people who revolted to be free but lacked any idea of how to build a society. In Africa most of the colonies were stripped of their resources by the European powers and then, when they ceased to be profitable they were freed. Not surprising they flounder along. Most of those countries have artificial borders carved by outsiders with no consideration of tribal boundaries. Constant war was thus guaranteed in many cases as multiple tribes struggle for supremacy against traditional rivals that they share borders with but little else.

Interesting response. I have to say that you make good points. Still, as long as a charity hides information on where their money was spent it only causes these accusations to gather momentum. The best thing is to explain where money was spent and why as openly as possible. If you fail to be open it will only look like you have something to hide.

Arrogant maybe, but someone that donates money and time to help others is hardly self centered. At least he's trying to help someone and I don't care if he wants to insure that it's actually helping someone instead of wasted by doing it locally. You feel so concerned for Haiti you should donate your efforts there.

I, personally am okay with the change as I can do the conversions fine and I lived in Spain and Germany for a total of about 4 and a half years.
