I wonder if anyone has ever been jailed under this statute as intended. This is the kind of unconstitutional crap they pass to use as leverage to get people to accept a plea bargain when they really aren't guilty of much of anything.
I imagine they have ideas to answer the challenge. Of course the real answer wont come back for years when we get to see whether it succeeds or fails. I like that they try though, maybe one day they'll get it right.
I see old laptops all the time at yard sales for next to nothing. Still I don't really expect to use a 20 year old computer. I used an Amiga 3000 from 94 until 99 and despite the fact it was 10 years old had no trouble finding anything I needed for it at reasonable prices. Still I ended up moving on to a newer much more powerful system because eventually technology moves so far that upgrading becomes irresistible. I didn't leave the Amiga because it wasn't viable anymore but because something far better finally came along at a price I couldn't turn down.
No actually new hardware is often problematic for Linux. It's the driver issues see? New proprietary hardware has to have drivers reverse engineered and that takes time. Give it 6 months to a year then try, by then these will be all over ebay at a fraction of their new prices.
Whatever. I never use a tablet for computing unless there is nothing else available. My dinky little Acer Aspire One is better at everything than my tablet with the exception of being a smart remote which is what the Samsung 7" tablet I have has become. It makes a fucking fabulous remote control though, I threw the logitech remote in the trash.
I've seen more than once where someone just gave up due to their life savings being drained and took a plea with no jail time instead of innocent then bankruptcy. Unless you're rich like OJ you'd best beware.
It's mandated that people must have insurance. Must have it whether they want it or not. That's as un-American as it gets. It goes beyond the usual Democratic party socialism.
Romney was one of the least popular Republican nominees ever. He inspired no excitement at all in the ordinary people but only among the party elites....the one's that tried to shove Jack Kingston down our throats in the primary in Georgia and now refuse to fully support David Perdue because he's not "their boy." The last Republican candidate I actually voted for for President that I liked was Reagan. Romney was so bad I didn't even bother making a choice, I skipped that one and moved down to the state elections. I think I actually prefer President Obama to that dickhead.
Because they don't really innovate anymore and most of what they do is a regression. The Mac Mini is a perfect example. It really not only failed to advance but in some ways went backwards. The newer OS upgrades are more about selling you some crap you don't want or need than increasing productivity. Mountain Lion was the last OS that actually seemed like an improvement. My computer ran better with that installation but Mavricks really seems sluggish, so much so I wiped the drive and went back to ML. I hate that upgrades are tied to the Apple Store now. Why??? So many little things bother me whereas when I first installed OS X I found the little things to be where they excelled. I find myself using my Linux laptop more and more over the Mac for general computing use. For video work I still use it but now that I've got ffmpeg fixed from the avconv debacle I'm starting to work with Linux more in that area too. If only hardware manufacturers would support Linux more.
Congratulations on a very intelligent post. I have no Mod points but you should be +5 for sure. I call myself a conservative but the Republicans of today are not conservative for the most part but radicals. W did more to build big government during his tenure in office than anyone with the exception of his successor and yet he had the audacity to call himself conservative. I think I actually voted for 5 people in the last election as most of the choices were between fucked up one and fucked up two. It's depressing. A choice between Communists on one side and Fascists on the other is no choice at all.

Laws are meant for little people. Not big shots and billionaires.

The biggest reverse engineering project I remember was the one where the original PC bios was reverse engineered thus creating the clone market.

It's that pesky GPL. They can't just take it and run.
Long enough. There are plenty of Commodore 64's still for sale.

XBMC on a chromebook, that's a thought.
Both.

How about I just give them the middle finger?
You might survive but I doubt you'll come out on top. Better have a really good lawyer and be prepared to spend a lot of money.

It's all Bush's fault.
Quit confusing the issue with facts.
It gets warm but not unbearably. I've worked on jet fighters for over 30 years now so I can't really say about the noise.
Oh that was cold.
That's why I insist on meat AND potatoes.
