Nobody gives a shit about the Constitution. All anyone cares about is American Idol or the basketball/football/baseball/hockey/etc. game. Politicians piss all over the Constitution on a regular basis with the overwhelming blessing of the "people." As long as people have their cable and cell phones and broadband everything is hunky dory. I watched Ron Paul give 'em hell about it at every debate but basically 95 percent of the voters are looking for the same old crap. They WANT lying ass politicians....honest ones wouldn't give them the pork they crave. Another Presidential race and both mafias went out and found the sorriest of the sorry to run for President. Ugh....Hillary or Obama vs. Keating 5 McCain. Jeeeeez! Thanks for the choice fuckers. A plague on both your houses.
I can't remember who it was but one political pundit described America as a big Sow with millions of little piglets suckling at her.
I owned a nice BMW when I was in Germany. That was back in the late 80's. It got about 22mpg and had good power and acceleration. They're a little pricey for my budget. The one you mentioned looks like the composite mpg score is about 36. Hard to believe it gets better mileage than my daughters tiny little toyota. I've noticed most of those "estimated" mpg scores are usually pretty high compared to "real" world scores. I think more people lie about their gas mileage than people do about the size fish they caught.
heh...
I notice I got modded troll...I guess expressing a contrary opinion is trolling. Ah well....
I don't think you get the point. Why do you think people buy big cars and suv's? Because they don't like to save money? They want to pay more? People buy them because they are what they want! Not everyone likes to be crammed into a itty bitty car. I know I could go and buy a scion XA like my daughter owns....I've driven it. It's a really nice little car. High quality, decent power, superb gas mileage and it makes me have to lay up in traction for 2 days after riding any real distance in it. I've considered getting a diesel mercedes and making some bio-diesel up for it. If gas ever gets to 5 or 6 dollars a gallon I'll probably do that. Frankly gas prices aren't painful enough for me to go to the trouble yet.
I've ridden in a Ford Escort. I rented one once.....ONCE. You know...I'd like to get 40 miles to the gallon...but being tortured to the point of wanting to kill the sadistic motherfucker that designed the little piece of shit isn't worth it to me. For all those that like riding in plastic and aluminum foil matchbox size cars...good for you. More power to ya. I'll just keep trucking along in my old comfortable gas guzzler that gets a mere 20 mpg's. It's better than my 70 440 charger that got about 8mpg.:)
The New York stock exchange thinks they've merged since they are listed as one corporation there. I believe the merger was two years ago...could be wrong though.
Hard to kick all the conservatives/fascists/theocrats out of government when they make up such a significant portion of the population. It's called a "representative" government. Some people voted for Bush because they agreed with his views...or at least what he stated his views were. Of course some voted for him because Kerry and Gore were such jokes. As long as we have the great two party system where there are only bad choices we will continue to have sucky people in office.
Think about it. If you spent 200 million on Reasearch and Development costs to make a drug and start selling it you are going to want to recoup the costs. But, company XYZ from mexico or china with virtually no overhead can copy your drug and produce it without need to recoup that original R&D costs. How do you compete with that? You don't. So you don't bother discovering drugs because someone else is going to make all the money. Company XYZ isn't in business to help people either...and they know that if they spend the 200 million or so to develop a drug someone else will copy it and rip them off too. Where are we with that system?
It never hurts to think about things before you run off at the mouth about them.
>You should have been fired and prosecuted for your "amusement." Your "amusement" is a lack of respect for others.
I don't disagree. It was wrong. Still and all.....privacy is an illusion. You can bitch all you want but the fact is that without some form of encryption there is no secure communications. From bored comm techs to overly enthusiastic FBI agents and NSA operatives, there is always someone listening. You can expect privacy but you aren't going to get it.
The simple fact is that talking on any phone, cellular in particular, is not private. If you think it is you are delluding yourself. As a comm tech in the 80's we routinely monitored voice traffic for amusement purposes. The things you hear are mind boggling! People talk on the phone about the most private and illegal things. Why oh why would anyone ever discuss something on an unsecure medium that they don't want anyone to know is beyond me. I remember years ago some congressional members cell call with some embarrassing content was recorded and made public. Yeah...it was illegal and the people that recorded it were charged....but still, why would anyone thinks that a phone call is private. It doesn't matter whether the administration and congress ban monitoring or not. It will still happen. The only difference then is it wont be admissable in court. But then if you're a member of a terrorist organization bent on death and destruction the people listening are planning on sending you to a higher court.:)
I can, and did, f-ing read the f-ing rant by Theo. You nicely summarize a paltry sentence or two out of several paragraphs of invective from the venomous keyboard of the OpenBSD master. The overall tone was such that even as a relatively neutral party I was badly put off by it.

I've got a new in the box nVidia card I was going to put in my new tower I'm building. It's off to e-bay for it and back to the store for an Ati card.

You are all (mostly) missing the point. The board is designed foremost to run AmigaOS4. Linux is supported only as an aide to development while OS4 is being finished. Why run Amiga OS? I don't know.:) I love it...it's a sweet, responsive operating system that I've used for over 10 years. It lacks some modern OS features but it is still viable and performs well. It has a small footprint.....I have one 880K disk with the OS, a TCP/IP stack and an IRC client on it that will run on a 1 meg Amiga 500 with motorola 68000 7mhz cpu. We crazy, fanatical amigans have been waiting for nearly a decade for a new amiga. Many thought it would never come. It may not be practical but it's an Amiga.:) Jay Miner was a genious.

He was right on.
Sorry....I'm in a bad mood today.

It runs on OS2.1 with Termite TCP using grapevine IRC client. It's fast. coldfire
