When it comes down to it most EULA's are slightly more valuable than toilet paper due to this fact.
I've just recovered from a bit of botulism, and I actually found that most things seemed slightly less valuable than toilet paper... funny how one's priorities can change at the drop of a crap;^)
Here in South Australia we are the only state in Australia to incorporate a 5c deposit on drink cans & bottles - yes, the consumer pays more, but you know what? You do NOT see any cans or bottles littering the streets here. Paying this small extra amount is not as drastic as you make out, people get used to it pretty quickly.
Sure, it raises costs for the consumer, but so what? Does the consumer somehow have some divine right to buy at the best price?
