Be also aware that this is election time, and our prime citizen Berlusconi will lose. So he bring out this old project, to gain some thousands of votes, and will leave it to the next administration to realize. Same old story...

At 15,000 degrees Celsius (27,032 degrees Fahrenheit), the plasma valve is about 50 times hotter than room temperature when measured in degrees Kelvin.
Is it possible at all to maintain such a temperature on a section wide enough to let a ship pass through it? The article lists only ehm... tiny applications... moreover, I definitely think the quantity of energy needed for this is huge, and the pollution produced to generate it... well, just as huge.
Just thinking freely but... your ship exits from the vacuum tube, at great speed, and meet the atmosphere... not gradually, as happens to the shuttle coming down from space, but abruptly, as the atmosphere's density is near to terrain level... can it bear it? Wow.
From a quite-newbie point of view: is there a reason why Ogg Theora isn't included? Given the quality and increasing popularity of Vorbis, I would have expected at least a mention. And it would have been interesting to know its state relative to the others.
The law has been approved only under the promise it will be modified for that part. It contains other parts (on movies' copyright) that needed to be approved, or the entire law iter would had to be done again. So minister Urbani asked the parliament to approve it, promising to modify it ASAP.
I'm completely against italian government, but being italian myself I'm also against this fashion of reporting only half of the real news. And stop calling us fascists, please!
