It would likely be a Destination Landing Pad. I suspect the optimal setup would be a subscription service, and the landing pad would be part of the subscription.

I am actually looking forward to reading the long running replies on this/. of people who read the "poster's" line:
" What overlooked game on a failed platform would you like to see revived? "
The article is very small compared to what I hope others post as their favorite old games on failed platforms, though I would not necessarily say "failed platforms" in every case... I would think more like "out-dated platforms" for many.
I am looking forward to how the Android mobile devices look over the next year, and especially for those including NVidia's Tegra APX chip line. They have been hyping it long enough as already integrated to work with the Android OS, I would hope some mobile device makers have jumped on board.
Why have Beta when you can charge people for the first two or three test versions?
True. Oh wait... they already did that with Windows Vista, didn't they? I believe this is just a "refined" version of Vista with some more bells, whistles and yet another new skin/look.

Another one Bites the SlashDot Exposure dust.:-)

I am looking forward to see if they have placed any significant improvements in the SP1 deployment for Vista, not so much for features, but for speed, and desktop responce time. I agree it is a Behemoth to a PC even with dual core, SATA, and 2 Quick Gig's of memory for basic home use plus using the Readyboost feature to speed some of the excessive Swap File usage just a tiny more, but I will admit three of the stability hotfixes that were published made a big reliability difference for me... nothing on speed yet.
Of course let us also hope that any driver updates they push through with the SP1 will not cause major problems like I have had in the past, but as my subject states, I will be "backing up as usual". Note that backing up is important... the Restore Points dissapear very quickly. Type at'cha later!, Zwergin
Doom did the exact same thing to me in the 90's. I really emersed myself into the game then. The only one recently that has done it for me was Pain Killer. Dark room with surround sound and things appearing all around really gets to me. The enemy Radar and compas item would be showing foes in all directions. That certainly gave me an enjoyable rush tha tI kept going back for.
Very true. I am curious... when would it be easier: to reach a higher velocity with rockets while working your way out of the atmosphere, or after you've breached most of the atmosphere and the G-Forces are fewer?
Would it be worth creating a carrier Jet or sorts to carry a Shuttle with some booster rockets (hopefully smaller) which could then start accelerating from the higher altitude instead?

Good point. I hope they have used it as such.

Just a thought.
