Apache is better than IIS. Mozilla is better than IE. PHP and Perl are better than ASP. StarOffice is better than MSOffice. The 9x and NT kernels compare not to GNOME or X-Windows. RedHat, SuSE, Debian, Mandrake, SlackWare... all KICK Windows socks off. UNIX, Solaris ... they KICK Windows... Even Macs are BSD-based, with Aqua, Windows is just behind everybody. Microsoft bundles some of the WORST software for some of the HIGHEST prices, and the public actually PAYS it--as much as I despise Microsoft, it is the American public that keeps them running.

I too despise Windows and the entire evil empire. I also understand your point that for "Joe six pack" Windows gets the jobs done and that many of the less computer-techno-savvy "civilians" prefer it and do not have the know-how to operate Linux and would probably pass out on seeing a command line. And the truth is that Microsoft would maintain its monopoly were it not for one TINY little detail:

The "Joe six pack" PC is dropping in price, while Windows is not. Therefore, at a point in the near future, it will not be profitable for the OEM's to package their PC's with Windows, it will just not be cost-effective if they want to be able to have competitive prices.

So those "JSP's... hehe Joe Six Pack... JSP.. :)" can have their D*MN Windows, but soon it will be DEAD. Microsoft is dying a slow death, but it is dying.

I mean, really, IBM and HP are already both pro-Linux, I don't know if anyone else has seen the very great IBM commercials lately or not... Plus, the majority of people ASSOCIATE Windows with COMPUTERS, the Windows GUI to them *IS* the computer, a magical little thing invented by God (AKA Bill Gates) -- but those paganistic FREAKS will soon learn that the TRUE God is Torvalds, once they go to the store to buy a PC and their world is turned UPSIDE-DOWN because they finally realize that Windows is NOT the PC, and that there are better alternatives, and with the commercials and backings that Linux is starting to get, it won't be long before the revolution comes. Bill Gates will probably be either lynched or drawn and quartered... take your pick...
