Just remember that there are two type of mechanisms to protect dvd regions. One is the hardware itself, and can be patched with firmware, and the other one is the OS itself. On windows, you have to install a program called dvd region killer or something, made by the guys that make clonedvd.
On mac, i don't know if there is a software mechanism in place.

As long as someone is using an internet explorer that doesn't support PNG transparency, i will keep using GIF for low color images that need to be transparent. My guess? About 5-10 years where there aren't anymore win9x/2k/me users.
I don't like threads, i like flat mode, and just want to view +3 and up. With the new system i can't do this. What i would like is to keep the current layout but use ajax to moderate, change thread/flat mode, change starting score and reply, and keep the same UI.
And you know what? That could probably mean they could target IE and opera too.

I have 3 divs. A main div which encloses the other 2. One is floated to the left, one to the right. If i don't set a height on the container div, on firefox the divs will grow out of the bottom border of the div, but on IE6 the container grows automatically. OK, i just set overflow:auto to the container div and both browsers work fine.
But, if i put content to the left div, and use the right div for images and such, the right div wont grow to match the left div's size.
Is there a way to do this? Besides faking it by using the same background color and such...

Now that Java can be redistributed legally (tell that to the slackware guy, he has always included it by default), and will be open sourced soon, it can fight back.

Slackware used to include older versions of software like debian stable because it was designed with stability in mind. But since around 7.0, haven't you noticed it includes up-to-date software?
I think i read somewhere that 11.0 (hence the bump in the major version number) would include 2.6 by default

I use HTML 4.01 Transitional in my pages. Why? I am the only developer, so i develop my pages semantically and leave the layout to CSS.
So why not use strict? It is illegal in strict to have a target attribute in anchors, for example. No iframes (if used wisely, they can be intuitive)

They removed reiser3 from its upcoming version citing it was unscalable, while version 4 is still unstable.
I never liked reiser myself, i trust ext3.
