    Maintenance Guy: Uhh, what kind of output does this have? This is some ancient Super-VHS output or somethin'. I can't connect it to your float screen.

    Cartman: There's gotta be some way to hook it up! It's the freakin' future!

    Maintenance Guy: It may be the future for you, but I can't hook up anything to a float screen without at least a laser-7 output.

    All I wanna do is play Nintendo Wii!

    Regardless of whether these are good(TM) or evil(TM), they seem to be easily removable? Need a new identity, go visit your local back alley surgeon who is more than willing than to provide a chip with someone else's code. Since it's only a code to an entry in a database, you could always just hack the database itself and keep your code. Privacy concerns--on scanning, only life critical information should be released. Further detailed information should only be released with a valid scan AND a user-provided password (provided that they can remember it and it's NOT their birthday). BCNU//jle

    As much as I agree that Gattaca is one of the best movies discussing this topic, one of the best novel series on this issue is Nancy Kress' Beggars in Spain series. Personally, I think not having to sleep would be the coolest...BCNU//jle

    The Cygwin project (a GREAT project) maintains extensive archives of their email lists used for support of the project. I ran into this problem myself. See:
