Anyway, that pressure from top-communists has been declined even in late years of Soviet Union. Today Russian leaders don't make that pressure either. So, the management style in Russian Space programs is very different. It's still very disciplined (not like in over-burocratic NASA) and based on old school russian scientific culture (lack of such culture is the major problem in USA IMHO). And of course it's very technology-oriented (that's like in NASA).
I believe in todays Russian Space programs. Even if US administration will make everything to shut it down in order to protect own NASA, Russians still can make some space business with EU and Australia. And perhaps Latin America too. The only problem to be expected is if USA administration would try to shut such relationships down, looking at it as a terrorrsm or something.

DTML documentation never said to write Python scripts instead, as DTML is a markup based on Python. On this esense, DTML is no different than PHP, just using Python (very common language even outside DTML!) as underlying scripting instead of something that you never find outside PHP.
The only advise to use something instead of DTML is to use ZPT, which is namespace-aware naturally-further generation of DTML.
In both cases, with DTML and ZPT it is advised that in case of complicated scripts you can write scripts in separate files and call them from DTML/ZPT tags. But that is called structuring you program code, which is a good thing.
So, stop trolling and talk with facts in your hands.

Seriusly, I think (or should I also say "I predict"!) that it will take about three years for Apple to realize that OS X was a bad design idea (dying BSD, dead micro-kernel etc). Then they will port their GUI to Linux/PPC keeping the same pricing (I guess), now just only for GUI.
If it exists in the Universe as a whole, it can exist also in pieces. There could be many reasons why another big diamond would be broken into millions of smaller (but still huge) pieces.
We know (we think we know) that there is a lot of dark matter between star ssystems and between galaxies. No need to go that far - there is a belt of cold rocks outside of Pluto. Who knows, maybe some of those rocks are broken pieces of one of such diamond star.

I use both Linux and various Windows on a daily basis. I can tell then one or another is faster in different tasks. Linux can share files way faster. But J2EE runs on Windows much faster. Running multiple small tasks is better scheduled in Linux. But openning some multimedia files in players is better on Windows.
I don't work with Free or Open BSD on a daily basis. But developers who write the code of PostgreSQL told in mail-lists that their database server runs faster on FreeBSD than on Linux. Well, perhaps because they prefer to spend more time to optimize their code for BSD as they religiously against Linux.
My point is: don't try to compare oranges againsta apples unless you really specify the comparisson.

My point is to support Twisted Python: it works on Linux (and thus on way more platforms than java). You can use a native code for any critical parts and scripts for flexibility. And it won't require GHz and GB from your hardware. It's as compact as J2ME and as functional as J2EE. Java cann never deliver such compactness and functionality at te same time (only one or another mutually exclusively). And it's open source, so no one keeps in mind to lock you in.
I have it for email coming to me. It's called Spamassassin. If you are not in the white list and your content has not been used to learn the ham - forget it, your email will never rich me.
