1) Patent system: In my opinion the present patent system is a disaster and it should be scrapped entirely. There should be no patents at all. The notion of "intellectual property" needs to be abandoned in favor of ideas being the common property of all humankind. Money should be made by products competing in the marketplace not by lawyers fighting in courtrooms.
2) Copyrights: Copyrighted works should enter the public domain with the death of the author.
