  1. Re:Well done to the team (again) but.. on Mozilla 1.1 Alpha Released · · Score: 1

Actually, I have had problems with loading images from the harddrive using Mozilla. They load just fine in Mozilla. However, it seems Mozilla forgets to release the device context for drawing the image. This causes you to loose all GDI resources after viewing just a few images. This is a Mozilla running on Win9x problem. I have not seen this problem in Linux, Solaris, or Windows NT kernal based OS. I'm guessing maybe the way the device contexts are managed is different...??? Interestingly enough, the same doesn't happen when viewing images which are not on the hard drive.

I have already reported this bug to Mozilla and it was being worked on last I knew.

Sorry about everything being in italics. I was adding something near the end and deleted the HTML close for italics on accident. Post starts at Funny.

You don't need to be a Kreskin to predict Perl's future. The hand writing is on the wall: Perl faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for Perl because Perl is dying. Things are looking very bad for Perl. As many of us are already aware, Perl continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood. ActiveState is the most endangered of them all, having lost 93% of its core developers.
Funny, thats what my MS lovin' friends say about my programming in C++ for Windows. Know what? With all this CLR they might be right... Scarey thoughts are running through my head. Good thing I got several linux distro's ready to go. ;-)

  4. Another touch screen? on Compaq Evo Tablet PC with Transmeta processor · · Score: 1

Why is it everyone seems to think touch screens are the great revolutionary thing. I've used them on palms and casio pocket computers and have found them to be rather annoying at best. I think I'll prefer the laptop. Maybe, I won't look as cool, but at least I won't have to go through the agrivation of using the touch tablets.

Here's an idea then, invite law enforcement to come live with you for 3 months, watch you have sex, watch you bath, and more. The interesting thing is, many of us have been allowing this to slowly happen, while giving up our power to the government. A government that we are supposed to run. Besides that, this type of information can also be used to target sell to you. Why is it that my personal life should be in the hands of some corporation or the government.

  6. Re:Only way for musicians to make money on Music Industry Seeks Payola Inquiry · · Score: 1

I'll agree with you there. There is a certain amount of cost in making an album. But, as to how much the artist and the song writers get is anyones guess. Supposedly thats why they go on tour. Tell you one thing though, sure seems like the RIAA has a lot of money for lawyers and court cost as of late.

  7. Re:Only way for musicians to make money on Music Industry Seeks Payola Inquiry · · Score: 1

Actually, I seriously doubt this. CD's are cheap to produce. Cheaper infact then the older cassette tapes. However, we pay nearly twice as much for a CD. As for MP3's, sales of cd's hava actually been up since the P2P became popular (although not so much in the major companies that form the RIAA). Thats right the smaller diverser indies have grown more. In additon to cd sales being up, so has concert attendance, and other assorted venues related to music. I think its more like people are getting far more greedy. Its not enough to just own an exotic sports car anymore, now you have to have yacht too.
