There isn't anything really going on, its just that our current conservative government (note that I did NOT vote for them in the last election) wants to ensure it wins the next election. They won the last election by demonising "boat people" and no doubt this tactic would work again.
Shame Howard shame.
People are quick to jump on the "all GM food is bad mmkay" wagon but don't realise (or don't know) that humans have been creating hybrid plants and animals for a long time, albeit not in a lab. I'm yet to see any sort of ill-effect from it in humans (and obviously there has been a lot of time to prove either way). So basically I don't see why it would be that much of a big deal (unless they start putting really questionable material into products).
As for the tiger, well I don't think we have any sort of right to go killing off an entire species, so I think we have at least some moral obligation to resurrect them (but not interfere with natural extinction).
I think this kind of thing is great - showing people that "multi-million dollar technology" can be emulated at home is always something I've been interested in. Again, this proves a little ingenuity is worth a lot more than money.
I eagerly await the backyard battleship and tank simulators:).
Who outlawed handguns? You can still buy non automatic weapons here...
I don't know if anyone has pointed out but the somewhat deceptively named liberals aren't really liberal at all. Liberal = conservative.

I agree. Listing his previous employer probably wasn't intended as an attack on MS. I don't see why anyone would think it was.
Why come see them face-to-face when you can watch Crocodile Hunter?*

BTW I am Australian myself.
