    IMO, one of Gentoo's biggest advantages is its lack of an installer - that lends it incredible flexibility. Have a basic Linux system (even busybox)? Have a FS that the kernel supports? You can install Gentoo. There's no need to fuck around with installers that limit your options.

    Keep in mind that this is the OS that can be crashed by writing text to a terminal. Being crashed by a video codec is par for the course for Windows.

    Your analogy is flawed. In the case of speeding, "innocent until proven guilty" still holds. For example, if the officer doesn't show up to defend the state's side, the case gets defaulted to you.

    You're deluding yourself if you think buying CDs actually supports artists. The vast majority of CD sales go directly to fat-cat CEOs. Personally, not only do I feel no qualms about ripping them off, I feel morally obligated to do so.
