  1. Re:EA Owns the Simulator Market on Black & White Goes Gold · · Score: 1
EA has made some smart moves in nabbing up these smaller game companies (Maxis, Origin, etc.). Let's hope they do the right thing and let them keep doing what they do best without micromanaging them. Too many games have been screwed by the big corporation stepping in.
That's pretty darn funny. Go to the Alpha Centauri newsgroup and see how people feel about what EA did to that game. Go read rec.games.computer.ultima.online--or go to boards.uo.com and read the UO:3D boards and see how people feel about that situation. The game is in a crappy beta state, and yet it's gone gold and will hit stores in two weeks! People with Voodoo cards are having all kinds of problems that render the game literally unplayable. EA screws us royally.

I don't think that gravity is really an issue wrt to sperm motility, or standing up for a few hours after sex would be a sure-fire method of birth control!

Actually, IE has supported PNG since the beta versions of 4.0. It doesn't support alpha, true, but you can get PNGs to load via the tag, which was more than you could say for netscape at the time (IIRC, during the 4.0 beta perios, Netscape said they wouldn't support png natively, leaving people to write plug-ins. Gee, thanks for the extra work in writing pages, guys.)

If you've got pngs that cause IE to blow up, you've either found some kind of IE bug or are using a feature it doesn't support. Maybe you should tell the IE team so they can fix it.
