Ah, the good old distro war! It's good to have distributions competing against each other since this is supposed to make them better and better. So, thanks distribution makers for all of this competition.
I only wonder why Suse didn't call this one 9.something to overcome Mandrake:)
SMTP auth? I know I'm going to be flamed by the "I wanna stay anonymous" mass out there but I'd be more than happy to use SMTP auth such as I do for POP3 access right now.
Is that so hard to implement? I don't think so: I guess there are already RFCs out there and real world implementations in almost every SMTP server/client.
Combining that with bandwidth throttling could let the spammers cease and desist. Forget about having the spammers paying money, they simply won't.
If every ISP out there would start using SMTP auth, they could shut down the user account within minutes after the flood has begun.
I'm in Rome, Italy and woke up this morning reading that European life is in doubt! I suddenly opened the window to see if there was people around the street and everything looked okay.
By the way, I can state Rome is okay so far, apart from smog, traffic and the usual things.
Don't do such a thing again for my hearth's sake please.
