I think that evolution is the only option if one is to choose. Kmail is quite unstable.
However the lots of nice gnome software out there as well.
Let us not forget gimp. Also mozilla is also heavily gtk based not to mention gaim, and gnomemeeting.
KDE is better with some of the gnome apps. Nothing wrong at that.
There are a lot of high quality apps for gnome, way better than some kde apps.

KDE is very nice (I have been using for the last 3+ years) for my desktop needs, but it's even better with gnome apps.
We all know what apple stands for... Yet another proprietary OS, quite expensive but with few applications and hardware to choose between.
Besides, security is all about source code, if you don't have access to your source code, you don't count.
