    The Tri-cityherald article actually says "one of" the largest and I know of one that definitely is larger. Chabot Observatory in Oakland, CA has a 36" reflector and the observatory is open to the public on weekend evenings and certain other times. I've not visited it since it moved to its current location but anyone who is able should do so.

    ... in the San Francisco Bay Area which involved installing USD $50,000+ home theatre and multiroom audio systems (i.e. recreation machines), I feel safe in saying you are talking out of your ass. Add to that my work experience as a fueler at a general aviation airport where guys owning multimillion dollar aircraft would fly a couple hours a day a few days a week simply for the fun of it and I'm positive you don't know what you're talking about.

    If you fail the screening, do they cancel your ticket and send you home? Or are you permanently banned from flying? Do they have you arrested and held indefinitely because you're a possible terrorist? Maybe Ashcroft has good timing with his desire (announced last week but given little press) to set up camps to hold citizens deemed a threat.

    Maybe it's just me, but I'm not rich and neither is anyone in my family, nor do I hold a high position in a multi-million dollar corporation. I have no history of shady business dealings and I do not have to gloss over my past to avoid scandal. I am not an elitist hypocrite who seeks to take things away from the little people while keeping them for myself. I do not suddenly change my thoughts on "the issues" so that I'll become popular with a new group of people. And so on, and so on, and so on...

    No, the elite of this plutocracy are not like me and I doubt they are like you either.

    I treat my CD's quite well but recently, my Civ3 CD developed a flaw (ie. a crack) for no apparent reason. The flaw spread into the data area within a couple days and the CD is now of no use to me except as a coaster.

    If I cared enough I'd try to find some stats on how common such damage is, but I don't so I won't.
