Seriously? Wii? I think we're looking at a huge console bust (insert DOA Beach Volleyball joke). After the initial curiosity and interest in the novelty of the wand-like controller I can't see them sustaining very good sales. The Revolution/Wii seems like a very inconvenient gaming experience; who really wants that much macro-movement to control a video game? And when you consider it's hitting the market after the Xbox360 and the PS3, does it really have any shot at making a splash?
I can't wait to see which of the other holy grails these miracle workers will achieve next. Will it be a cancer cure? An AIDS cure? Cheap renewable energy? Unified field theory? Uniform support for CSS and HTML across all browsers?
If these guys can keep knocking them out three years at a time we'll arrive at a brave new world in no time at all.
The movie industry is going down the tubes? How do you figure? Perhaps "Going down the tubes" is some idiomatic expression I'm not yet familiar with that means: "Doing extremely well, to the tune of $500 billion of annual (US only) revenue."
If you're interested in movies that aren't based on video games, the studios still manage to make a few of those every year.
