I am unable to reproduce this with gnome-panel 2.18.3.
1. Launch xterm
2. enter the command: sleep 5; exit
3. Locate xterm's window in the workspace switcher applet
4. Drag the window to another workspace; do not drop it
5. Wait for the xterm window to disappear
6. Drop the window
Please provide more information including the version of gnome-panel you are using.
About the mouse pointer issue: it is possible to tell the X server to release a grabbed pointer, or even kill the client that has the pointer grabbed, by pressing Ctrl+Alt+* (or Ctrl+Alt+/). Unfortunately, you must first enable the AllowDeactivateGrabs and AllowClosedownGrabs options in xorg.conf and restart the X server first.

If you have evidence that any of Microsoft's copyrights or trademarks are being used without permission, please present it!
If you're worried about patents then you should fix your country's patent system, as it is likely that any software more trivial than "hello world" infringes on dozens of patents.
Remember that it's only income tax. It doesn't count their equivalent to National Insurance which is basically a second income tax in the UK, at something like another 10-15% in the UK; Value Added Tax, which is a tax we pay whenever we spend something (17.5%)... capital gains tax, inheritance tax, taxes on transactions such as stamp duty.
Also ISTR something about Sweden having an additional tax on net worth--something like 2% per year! Though that may only be Internet true--can anyone verify?
First you need to add the 'non-free' and 'contrib' sections to your apt sources. You also need to install the 'nvidia-glx' package and change your driver from 'nv' to 'nvidia' in/etc/X11/xorg.conf.
This is because Ubuntu's installer is crap. Use their 'alternate install CD' and you get the original Debian installer, which will let you resize partitions to your heart's content.
Bad user interface, takes up far too many resources, installs that service that sits in the background, and is basically really really crap at actually managing the music collection.
Not bad, but I'm concerned that it require its own form of propretiary crapware, rather than allowing my to copy my music to it with rsync. And it won't play my Ogg format music (through neither will the iPod admittedly). Also it's made by Creative Fucking Labs, who will never get another penny of my money so long as I live.
I'm afraid I can't. iTunes is a dreadful piece of software that I have no wish to see ported to Linux. All I want is for Apple to stop putting up meaningless barriers to interoperability--but I have no hope of them changing, since it's what they've done for the last 30 years.
I wouldn't be so sure. How long is it since iTunes 6 (what happened to 5?) was released? rhythmbox, amarok, banshee, etc. users are unable to access music on a DAAP share hosted by iTunes 6 or later.
I really don't see how this improves the bottom line. Does it hurt Apple for people to be using something other than their media player (which is free to obtain) to put songs on their iPod? Absolutely. The chances that I will buy an iPod have just dropped to precisely zero. I admit it wasn't terribly high to start with... the iPod was only in the running because Apple seem to be the only people making devices with 60 GB drives.:(

Try remounting your filesystem with the 'noatime' option. It made a slight difference to me, I think.

It took you six months? :)

Provide policy as determined by the user's preferences (e.g., sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity).
The correct thing to do in that situation is to shut the hell up and avoid spreading misinformation. :)
Quaint. :)

Switzerland sounds pretty good.
That's harsh. I generally only wish cancer upon people I see spitting on the ground, or who talk/eat/use their phones in the cinema.

I'm sure you could hack something together with vim and SNG. :)
I can't reproduce that with GTK+ 2.10.

To be fair, doctors' handwriting is second only to that of English teachers for illegibility. :)
What version of iTunes? Maybe it was iTunes 7 that broke DAAP sharing.

How?

Smaller filesize or better quality also.
