I know exactly what I'm talking about. Prius? Heh, I drive a Porsche 911gt3. My wife drives a 350ZX. So, as I was saying, real car guys don't drive BMWs. Even my wife knows better, so you can extend that to car gals as well:)
I'm pretty sure CR understands that "reliability" has nothing to do with the cost of parts. I'd certainly take their review over yours, Mr. "car guy" with a Ford (which you mock!) and a Japanese econobox.
dpreviews is good, but they do take ads and donated cameras from manufacturers. But back on topic: You claimed that CR sells ad space, but you've yet to back that up or acknowledge you're wrong. Why is that?
How else would you explain the lackluster reviews of cars such as the BMW 3-series, that seem to win award after award in nearly every automotive journal on the shelves?
What lackluster reviews? BMW 3-series gets top marks in every category (membership required) and the new wagon gets a good score but loses points for controls, cup-holder design, a small interior, and the need for premium fuel. I'm not sure why you're so personally offended by such an honest review, but maybe it would help you to know most CR readers don't focus much on the final "score" but rather look at the pros/cons and consider which are important to them.
Your post really comes across as a pompous attempt to be a "car guy" but real "car guys" (1) don't get their panties in a twist over a CR review and (2) don't drive BMW's.
Electric motors have different characteristics than the internal-combustion engines you're thinking of. DC motors often have very, very high ascelleration with relatively low top speeds.
While I'm not sure this thing can do 0-60 in 3s either, but the comparison you used in your reasoning is flawed. Electric motors can (and usually do) have much greater acceleration than internal-combustion engines.
I don't think "obfuscate" is the word you're looking for there. Maybe "obsessed with" or similar? Anyway, I disagree with your point -- both cocaine and filesharing should be legalized. The solution isn't to bomb and kill poor farmers in Columbia (you ghoul.)
Why would it wobble? The print is indented into the laptop. It creates a hand shaped void, around which is a perfectly level surface in every direction. It's not a protruding handprint.
Because it's a stupid idea that would stop no one from stealing a laptop and would give the thief a way to make a replica of your hand-print to use to frame you for any number of crimes?
I see what you're trying to show there, but to be fair, the US offered much more than that in practical help that would certainly be worth a lot more than money, but Myanmar has not accepted:
The Pentagon readied people and equipment for an aid mission to cyclone-stricken Myanmar, but the top U.S. diplomat in the Asian nation said its military junta was "paranoid" about accepting American help.
In addition to that offer, the US did indeed offer $3m in cash, and to put that into perspective, it's more than 0.034% of Myanmar's GDP. $3m goes a long way in one of the poorest countries in the world.
How is something so directly related "an entirely different matter?" You would also have a net increase in money going to maintain the roads if you reduce corruption or waste. It's exactly the same effect as raising taxes, except minus the whole screwing the taxpayers and the economy part.
Moreover, why do you conclude that money lost to corruption is a fixed percentage? There's no evidence to support that notion.
Gas taxes pay for the roads (and the taxes are not high enough based on the state of the roads in most of the country).
What a non sequitur. One may not reasonably conclude that taxes are too low simply from observing the (poor?) state of the roads. Corruption, incompetence, even apathy from those who receive the tax money and are charged with overseeing the maintenance of roads are almost certainly more to blame.
Tesla Motors has opened their first retail store front to allow the masses access to their new cars. Of course, this is assuming you can afford the $109,00 price tag.
Only $109? That's amazing. But why is slashdot suddenly using the European decimal punctuation?
Why be such a dick about this? You know, I have no dog in this race, but after reading your mean-spirited replies, I've decided to just assume you're wrong and the guy with whom you're arguing is right.
Just FYI, in case you might care about how well you're persuading people to agree with your views.
Ignoring your random capitalization, please allow me to help you out, as you seem to have gotten both of your claims exactly wrong; imagine that!
In a few states in the US it is illegal for anyone to provide alcohol to a minor, parent or not. In most states, parental exception is allowed.
Also it has not been shown that people who drink when younger under supervised conditions are no more likely to become an alcoholic that a person who starts later.
Yeah, that sure is a funny "spoof" right there. It's like, you reversed it! And the acronym is kind of like a mild curse word! That truly is hilarious, fresh, and original! Thanks for sharing; that truly is the "funniest spoof!"
You mean my Japanese econobox that equals, or betters your 350ZX in nearly every performance measurement
It's my wife's, but now you're just being ridiculous. I'll leave you to your fantasy. Sorry to disrupt your reality distortion field.

What good to me is someone else's subjective opinion?

Really, "pir8" -- not "pirate?" Wow, /. is so 1337 (rolleyes).
Oops, your plan fails. Obama voted to reauthorize the PATRIOT act. It's right there on his own website, though he tried to justify it with some spin.
Bullshit. Obama voted to reauthorize the PATRIOT act in 2006. It even says so on Obama's own website (though couched in spin): "Obama Voted For a PATRIOT Act Reauthorization Bill"

Actually, the "editors" fixed their mistake and changed "$109,00" to "$109,000" thereby spoiling my joke and confusing you.

Can you tell me what the drinking age has to do with fetal alcohol syndrome?

Better luck next time!
No, that's not at all what happened. You just made that up to support your spurious claim.
Unless you can cite something to back up those "most people..." claims I'm going to have to go ahead and assume you made it all up.
