We have agreed that when he gets older we will explain to him our positions on the topic and he can choose the path he wants to take. I won't be upset whatever his choice is... everybody is entitled to believe what they want. But I will make sure he does nothing stupid because of his religion (at least until he turns 18, but there's a decade or so to still go for that).

  17. Just boot loader and extra rom chip for googleOS on Google PC to Hit Walmart? · · Score: 3, Interesting

I believe what we will see are computers which just have a bootloader and rom chip with a very simple custom OS on it for fetching GUI components from google's web servers. The interface the user will see will be completely virtual, meaning their machine is just a dumb client running google OS remotely. There is no need for a hard drive, as all user data will be stored on google servers. No need to upgrade any software, as the software is kept up-to-date on the google servers. Virtual dumb terminals or thin-clients or whatever you want to call it, is what Google is planning... and I think they may be able to pull it off.

    2 The horizon problem
They will eventually find out that time is not a constant... it is currently changing speed very slowly, and possibly changed very fast close to the big bang.

Once again, just more proof of the power of the human mind to manifest impossible results.

    5 Dark matter
