Hell, I don't even say "Linux" most of the time. I usually just say "SuSE" or "Red Hat" or "MEPIS".

GNU system was in use on top of other kernels years before Linux.
I'm sure it was. Unfortunately, I can't find any essays about why those should be called "GNU/xx" instead of "xx". Why is he so concerned about Linux and not those other kernels? Is it because of Linux's popularity?
the falsification of history perpetrated by ethics-less opportunists such as Linus Torvalds
Oh, please. I was with you until I hit this libelous hyperbole. Given my earlier remark, I could just as easily call RMS an "ethics-less opportunist" who's latched onto Linux's growing popularity to push his agenda to a wider audience that otherwise would never have heard of GNU.
I could say that, but A) I don't believe it's true because I respect RMS enough to give him the benefit of the doubt, despite his half-crazed zealotry, and B) I would have used "unethical", not "ethics-less".
Now, give me an example of Linus denying that Minix and/or GNU weren't vital ingredients in Linux's recipe. Otherwise, I'll just assume that you were throwing a little tantrum.
You sound like you think Darwin was the last word in evolutionary research.
Scientists have learned a lot in the century since Darwin. Stuff that would amaze and in some cases baffle "Darwin himself".
I notice, by the way, that the books you link to weren't written by a scientist. Not even a self-proclaimed scientist. At least he appears to be more honest than some others in the anti-evolution crowd.
The problem, of course, is how often that "interim" solution becomes the "final" solution. I had to nursemaid one of my own "interim" solutions twice a week for nearly seven years because it worked "well enough"...from the customer's point of view. They didn't know that I was physically taking their data home with me to upload it and download results from my own PC because my "interim" solution stopped functioning at work after we were upgraded to WinNT.
Please note that I don't use either product (I prefer McKoi or plain Berkeley DB), so this isn't meant as flamebait. It's just that I keep hearing this claim repeated in every database shootout, but nobody ever expands on it.
I call bullshit. I read many of the KDE mailing lists, and the developers are constantly fretting about performance and resources.
As for "low-quality code", KDE and Gnome work on a wide variety of hardware and operating systems. It's much harder to optimize cross-platform code.
Of course, that price gets you a helluva lot more software.
Ah. Touch-typist lingo. Never mind.
"Home position"?

Bah! Kids these days. Not watching the classics.
Are you this concerned about all of the home-grown "Christianofascists" who are out to destroy this country?
Dammit, I didn't want to post that anonymously.
Yeah, I hate it when I forget to take my meds, too. 8-)
Yeah, I didn't figure you'd have one.
"Darwin himself"?

So what's your theory then? Or don't you want a Nobel Prize?
Okay, no, it's not.
So that's why I keep getting all of those syntax errors from javac!
You're certainly a busy person.
Not if you didn't mean to. Then it's just stupid.
Yeah! I'll bet they'd be happier living on doctors' neckties.
I thought gravity's velocity was still up in the air. And what are "light dots"?
Your entire post assumes that the universe has an "edge" or a "rim". It doesn't.
Its usually called the "war on terror", so I assume it can be ended by ingesting the right drugs.

It doesn't support Pain in the Rear?
He also wrote "programmes", so he's definitely a foreign terrorist. I hope he enjoys Guantanamo Bay.
