That's more an Islamic interpretation (and possibly that of some Puritanical protestant sects). Christian and especially Catholic tradition is that the Bible is the starting point and that ongoing revelation through the Holy Spirit is more important.
Wrong, so wrong. What you describe is agnosticism.
Atheism is an active belief that there is definitely not a god (or gods). Richard Dawkins (Arch-Nutjob) is doing a pretty good job as their high-priest.
Actually it's even worse the summary says 4th *Century* BCE, so, according to Slashdot, it was written 400 years before the events it describes... I believe it's actually considered to have been written around 200 AD.
The summary is also misleading in that Codex Sinaticus has the short version of Mark's Gospel (no post-resurrection encounter) rather than omitting the resurrection. But then being accurate has ever been a strength of the slashdot editors.
The Codex Sinaticus is also incomplete and includes works that are not considered canon in either the catholic or protestant traditions.
P.S.
"BCE" is just such a silly notion. So, tell me, when does the "Common Era" start? "Err well, uhm, it starts from the err, uhm, ahem, traditional date that (whispers) Christ was born (blush)".
BCE and CE is an idiotic expression typical of the Politically Correct crowd.
If you're going to have an areligious dating system start from something sensible like the birth of the universe or the creation of the earth (ha!): and good luck with that.
GNU/Linux is the correct name for the OS. The vast bulk of the OS has nothing to do with that publicity-troll Torvalds. It's dishonest to try and claim credit for something you haven't done anything to contribute to. Hence GNU/Linux or, imo even better GNUOs are more honest. The kernel is such a tiny part of the whole and even that couldn't exist without the whole of GCC and associated libraries.
Oh noes! Someone who's not that interested in Apple and who's never bought an Apple product swears not to buy an Apple product that's sold out and won't be available again for months!
When I was a kid I self-taught programming on a Commdore Pet. What drove me was that I could, and did, programme games as good as those being professionally published (I even self-published a couple).
Obviously today that's not possible. But I think where you can still produce stuff as good as the pros is in developing a Web 2.0 web site.
I'd suggest getting him started on Ruby on Rails and working through a book like "Ruby on Rails E-Commerce" (exciting title eh!) or similar ones that you work through to build a social networking site.
As he gets into it you can perhaps guide him to other aspects of the system:
security,
design of the UI,
AJAX,
ruby gems.
If he's got a bit of math geek in him then perhaps look behind some of the data structures especially the ones RoR uses to hide the complexity (eg hashes).
I'm not sure if or how it applies to Psystar but if you buy stolen goods then they are not yours and you have to return them to their owner. Keeping them is a criminal offence (posessing stolen goods).
So yes you could be forced to hand back goods you've bought.
Yes yes and BMW have a monopoly on BMW cars and Mercedes have a monopoly on Mercedes cars and it would appear you have a monopoly on stupidity: please stop abusing it and stop posting.
[blockquote][italics]OS X *is* available for purchase as a separate product.[/italics][/blockquote]
Hate to burst your bubble but no it isn't. The boxed copies are upgrades to the pre-installed version you got when you bought your Mac.
Yes except that bankruptcy and having a limited company (assuming they've set one up: wouldn't surprise me if they were stupid enough not to) doesn't completely shield the directors from liability.
No. If Psystar were rich enough they'd just have to hand over even more cash to Apple.
As it is they're a couple of chancers, who've lied to their customers about their experience (see their web site) and have tried to make money by breaching Apple's copyright.
They're a pair of dishonest shysters selling other people's work and deserve to get the financial hiding they're in for.
You're original comment was that only the unwashed masses bought Apple products.
Multiple people have demnstrated how wrong you are but instead of either apologising or quietly slinking away you try to change your argument: it's not the unwashed masses anymore, it's the non-corporates now. And we all know corporations have a history of buying intelligently. "Nobody every got sacked for buying IBM".
You're an idiot.
I think a point you are all missing is that you cannot buy a separate copy of OSX to install on a fresh machine.
Apple ships OSX with a machine.
Apple sells *upgrades* to OSX in a separate box.
That makes any comment about the EULA irrelevant: copyright law applies and neither Psystar, nor anyone else, has a license to install OSX on a fresh box.
It's exactly the same law that allows the GPL and Open licenses to work.
So going to Hell shouldn't bother any atheist.
So what you are saying is that man is sinful. Wow what an insight.

Just one tiny detail: Christ spoke Aramaic and the early bibles were all written in Greek.
=> The Universe was created by God.

"Common Era" Hahahaha!
They're a computer company: they sell the hardware + system as a package (it's called a "Mac") ,similar to, but more open than, a console maker).
They don't sell OSX except as part of a package or as an upgrade to a Mac you bought previously.
They also sell other systems: iPod and iPhone for example. And some accessories like iLife and iWork.
You sir, deserve a +1 insightful.

All Apple have to do is:
Personally I'd rather the FSF didn't waste my contributions in this way.
Oh noes! Someone who's not that interested in Apple and who's never bought an Apple product swears not to buy an Apple product that's sold out and won't be available again for months!
That said, I'd still propose C rather than C++ (which I agree is a god-awful mess) to learn about pointers.

Edward
What you're saying is we should burn Psystar for potentially forcing Apple to include draconian copy protection methods (activation etc)? I agree.

Hahahaha. First comment that made me laugh out loud today.

All your psystar are belong to us.
