English isn't a precise language. The position of something as small a comma can completely change the whole meaning of a sentence. Also the world moves on, it has to be reinterpreted in the light of modern thinking and morales not to mention technology.
In any case doesn't the Constitution give the SCoTUS the authority to interpret it (and not just any random internet wonk)?
Well your second-hand experience from your mother is exactly the opposite of mine.
Over about 10 years:
I've tried Tesco and Sainsbury- I got fed up with them because they kept substituting items I didn't want for items I did. And because they expect you to hang around for 2 hour delivery slots.
I then switched to Ocado (Waitrose), who offer 1 hour delivery slots and usually arrive right at the start of the period. But after a year I stopped using them as well.
The reason: their "fresh" food onlyever has a shelf-life of a day or two. Bread, fruit, vegetables. With a few exceptions they're rotting within a couple of days of delivery.
In contrast when I go to the stores I pick the freshest -not the oldest as the delivery firms seem to do- goods and I simply avoid the food that is literally all ready rotting on the shelves (clementines and Christmas and strawberries at any time are the most likely to suffer from this).
Home delivery grocery services are still badly flawed.
So you are trying to claim email - which you can ignore until it's convenient for you to deal with - interrupts your workflow but the IM, telephone calls etc which require you to respnd immediately don't?
You and Thierry have something in common: you're both idiots.
An Islamic state is constitutional ( defined by the Koran ofc ) where the ruler is chosen by a group of scholars, approved by the population and can be removed.
And yet at the beginning of WoW you could get on the early raids (UBRS, Scholo and Strat) with a mix of blues and greens: which is quite reasonable.
People didn't need to know the instances because -in complete contrast to today- people were willing to talk to each and, shock! horror! explain any upcoming tricky fights.
These days -and repeating your initial point- you are expected to be over-geared and to be have studied every patrol and boss fight.
This has become a necessity because Blizzard has made too many of the bread and butter instance boss fights overly complicated.
This is Blizzard's fault. Blaming the players (customers, rats in the maze) makes no sense.
I do agree with your implied final point though: gear is far too important compared to your character's base stats and skills. Vanilla WoW had it right, we've seen extreme item inflation ever since.
I shouldn't have to need the time and alts in order to play my character,
In many ways todays WoW is a sad, sold-out reflection of it's early self.
When I first started playing (US then EU betas and then EU live) running dungeons was fun, exciting, dangerous and sometimes maddeningly frustrating.
Today running dungeons is like a job. And a tedious, boring, uncreative menial job at that. There's no skill required- and most players won't even tolerate attempts at a more skilful-creative approaches as it introduces risk and might slow down their instance run. Why would spending more time having fun be a problem? The problem is that running instances in WoW now is not fun.
The other problem is that scientists can't accurately predict the weather a month ahead, so how can they expect us to take them seriously when they start predicting what the climate will be like in decades to come? Especially as, if we were to believe them and act on that, it would require a massive change to the way we live our lives.
Personally I choose not believe it (and I have a degree from a good University in the second purest science) because the evidence is too tenuous to support such a big change, not for me, but everyone else as well. What chance is there that our demonstrably selfish rich in the west would do anything but take advantage and make themselves richer?
In any case, six digit and six digit. Not that much lower. And mines only six digits because I binned my original/. account as the user name was my real name and didn't fancy being stalked.

I thought, could be wrong, that the US Constitution gave the Supreme Court the authority to interpret the Constitution.
Which means, surely, that by definition their interpretations arethe only valid ones?

It was announced on the 13th of October.
So the gp's comment about the snail-like qualities of /. editors is spot on.
Should I also lose all of my social skills, stop bathing and whine about how my parents don't understand me.
The youth unemployment rate is at an all time high wheras the unemployment rate for my, email using, demographic is still nice and low.
I'll pass on job related advice from them, or the head of 3rd tier IT company, thanks very much.

Iran is not an Islamic state.

Malaysia is the only nation that comes close.
Quote: "she's real big about trying to get girls in to engineering."
So what you are saying is she sexually discriminates against men?
Heinlein isn't a prophet and his words shouldn't be taken as gospel.
The US is 'an armed society' and my impression is that it is anything but a 'polite society'.

When did Home Economics graduates get let in here?
You can't do anything with iOS (for example), you can't even look at it.
I'd always balked at the signing up stage.
Thanks for the pointer!
Have to agree.
And the support fees are mandatory- no way to download a copy of RHEL from them without signing up to pay.
Re the Torvalds quote in your signature: I think that is literally the first time I've heard anything from him that I agree with whole-heartedly.
Thank you for a genuinely new experience!
Given the amount of fraud in Chinese science it makes a lot of sense to wait for confirmation from a more credible source.
And even if Chinese science were whiter than white, your blind-acceptance is decidedly un-scientific.
You're assuming the article is true. Chinese scientists have a reputation for making stuff up.
Yes, thank you for explaining their point for those without the two brain cells needed to work it out for themselves...
What a terrible thought -I assume you mean the current one, Human Revolution-: a copy of a tedious, linear, game that lacks any character!
A true horror.
Looking outside. Now. I see above average rain and I feel below average temperatures.
So obviously we should be concerned about global cooling and increased rain- so no water shortages. Right?
The problem with you half-witted advocates of a dubious pseudo-science is that you seem completely incapable of coherent argument.
That assumes Lamont is right.
And if the only proof he can offer 'is to have the Sun explode' then he's completely failed as a scientist.

You must have bought your lower UID on ebay.
Now that was an insult ;)

The Apple section of Slashdot -which is where this was posted- as a Mac-centric blog.
But yeah it's such a trivial piece of information that I agree with your basic point.
Slashdot is far from being 'news for nerds, stuff that matters' anymore. It's more 'anything that will get the clicks or get the trolls trolling'.
I'd suggest someone who reads a thread and then posts to it. They care.
I'm guessing you're a closet apple 'fanboi' who just lacks the money to indulge.
