  1. Best of Both Worlds on Disclosure of Major Software Exploits by Students? · · Score: 0

Try an anonymous remailer to let the developers and BugTraq know. You won't get famous or anything, but you'll be contributing without exposing your identity, and thus evading punishment. Its a shame that some of those who fight to make everything in this world better get puished for our good deeds. Unfortunatly, that will probably never change.

  2. Freenet on AOL Pulls Nullsoft's WASTE · · Score: 0

No need to cry over WASTE. Check out the Freenet project. Its been around much longer with similar goals (encrypted, anonymous, distributed access). http://freenet.sourceforge.net/

  3. Re:ho hum... on NTFS Support For OpenBSD · · Score: -1, Flamebait

Perhaps if the quality of the compared operating systems was based on how well they read and write to/from NTFS partitions, your smart remark might actualy be true. However, since things such as security, stability, robustness and TCO are generaly included in any serious comparisin, Windows 2000 isn't "...3 times better than Linux." The real signifigance here (and why it is news) is that OpenBSD couldn't mount NTFS partitions in the past, and now it can. It makes migration easier.

Maybe if other projects cared as much about thier code as the OpenBSD guys do, the OpenBSD wouldn't be necessary.

  6. Microsoft's final moves on Dell No Longer Selling Systems w/o Microsoft OS · · Score: 1

We all know Microsofts past with Mosaic/MSIE, JavaScript/JScript, etc... Then there are the EULAs for Win 2K SP 3 and Win XP SP1. They are making thier final moves to be THE OS & Software company. Before they would let other companies stick around so they could claim they are not a monopoly, but not anymore. You know what we must do. Its time for "Desigined for Linux" stickers on beige boxes and fewer ports of software to Windows. We can squish Windows, all we need to do is show people that they don't need Microsoft in thier life.
