To get good at math you need to do it yourself,
that is, solve problems. Its only when you face the problems yourself that you really get an appreciation for it.
My advice is to skip the classes and go to a good book and systematically go through it doing all the problems.
I would recommend Kolmogorov and Fomin, Introductory Real Analysis. Kolmogorov is arguably the best mathematician of the 20th century and his book is a masterpiece. Amazingly,
you can get this gem for only $10 in paperback.
Spend as long as necessary to go through it thoroughly doing all the problems. You
MUST do all the problems. Nothing less. Take
a year or however long it takes you to do this.
You won't be sorry.
Another one (not an alternative but a second book to look at) is Halmos, Finite Dimensional Vector Spaces.
