Two words, Windows Key + L. Or Ctrl+Alt+Del, space bar. I use XP, so both work to lock the system just fine for me- truth be told, I have to enter my password to regain access, but this prevents the 'waiting for the computer to fall asleep' syndrome.
NASA has a shuttle at the International Space Station presently- Is there *no* way that it could somehow be used to catch up with the satellite, and pull it up to its correct orbit? It seems at least *feasible* to me, even though I know very little about space...
Slightly off topic, they claim that SonicBlue bought up a number of companies including ReplayTV and "Rio", a maker of MP3 players. Do these idiots forget that, in fact, Diamond Multimedia made the Rio, and the TNT Riva and TNT2 Riva line of Video cards? And Monster Sound cards based on the Vortex 2 chip?
Bah- I love my TiVo like I'd love a child.
Oddly enough, I use a combination of my AIM-enabled Nokia 3390 T-Mobile phone, Trillian Pro as my AIM client, with Winamp 2.x plugins, and it's built in word-matching abilities to control Winamp. For instance//next could change to the next song, as Tril Pro supports Winamp controlling as such through it's plugin. I can also launch MS Outlook from my mobile and any other program. Or set my status to away, or lock my workstation.
I doubt any of this would ultimately be useful to you, but it's fun to turn the music on and off from another city... sorta...
Have you ever heard a glass armonica? They're AMAZING! I heard one on Mr. Rogers- It's a sweet instrument! And immensely original in design- very cool stuff...
What a stupid decision by Apple... They believe that their customers were suckers enough to buy their overpriced, over-hyped, under-delivering products, that they'll bite on this scam??! Those price comparisons crack me up! My hosting company charges $10/month, no set up, nothing for UNLIMITED space (starts @ 125 MB) and UNLIMITED bandwidth, as well as UNLIMITED Email Accounts and FTP accounts and forwarding! So, while that may cost even $120/year, you're getting full-fledged hosting on your own domain, and all of those features. That's the wonderful thing about capitalism, though- It relies on the dumbest common denominator. Meaning that, as stupid as all of us know this is, there are at least a dozen Mac users out there for every one of us who's just fine with that, and think they're getting a bargain.
