Perhaps cable and phone, but I'm not so sure about internet. Service in the West seems to be pretty good in terms of uptime/bandwidth/caps compared to what I hear coming out of the US. In my experience, internet in the east (Bell/Rogers) can be pretty terrible though.
Korea has similar issues. Among the boomer gen, getting divorced is basically like saying "there's something wrong with me and I can't maintain a marriage." Getting remarried - and having your family accept the new spouse - is even harder, ESPECIALLY if you have kids.
10 times less than what? Unless you're already comparing two things, then that's not really a useful measurement. Now if you said, A uses 120W, B uses 110W, but C uses 10x less, one could assume that C uses around 20W.
Assume we only know about A and C, we could say that C uses about only 17% the energy of A.
Well, that's basically how the big boys start a precedent. Before they go and bust your teenage son or grandma, they'll use expanded powers to nail a few low-lifes such as drug-dealers, terrorists, pedos, etc.
Then, they come and say "see, we're doing this for the good of society"
Once it's engrained in society, then they move to something more accepted but disliked by many. For example, porn. Then "copyright infringement" etc etc.
Indeed. Having owed a milestone, I would say that the issue with the phone wasn't so much the visual design, but poor support decisions and somewhat inferior hardware. a) Motorola was absolutely *terrible* at releasing updates for the phone. They much preferred to come out with new models and seemingly abandoned the old b) The design wasn't bad, it was solid. The hardware itself wasn't great though. The phone had low RAM/storage and was sometimes laggy. It ran somewhat better if you instead a 3rd-party launcher like "go", but otherwise had issues refreshing the home screen icons, etc. c) The keyboard was very nice to have. HTC had a nice snap-out keyboard too. I miss those
It would be faster for a single stream. For example, you want to stream a ~ 50MB/s file, but you only have access to a 30MB/s wired connection, a 20MB/s wifi, and a 5MB/s cellular.
So all of those connections go to a bigger node with a >50MB/s pipe, the data is combined there, and arrives to you across all three connections where it's recombined and then appears to be a single ~ 50MB/s stream.
In some ways it sounds like it's borrowing from the swarm/torrent concept. Smaller amounts of data divided among many sources. I wonder how it would work out in terms of RIAA copyright bots if you ran a torrent behind this protocol?
Look, if you can't educate your crotch fruit on how to safely use a computer, don't let them use one I sounds like other people's kids misusing the computer were more of the issue....
It took MSFT 3 years for the Xbox360 to stop being a loss leader (each console sold for less than what it cost MSFT to make it), it took Sony 5 years for the PS3 to stop being a loss leader
The consoles yes. But there are a lot of other factors like licensing/% of game sales, and I'm fairly sure MS has been raking in the cash with xBox live sales
Well, they're allowing sales, but they're still fixing the price. I think the issue at hand is this:
They must also sell it at a market price (35£ in the UK)
It looks like pretty much straight-up price-fixing to me. By similar logic, ebooks are also "licenses" rather than physical copies, but Apple and various publishers are still in trouble for price-fixing in that market.
Well, a lot of other factors come in. Two big ones: a) cooling and b) power
Another one is structure strength. Depending on what was actually in the floor-space, I wonder about a location's ability to handle a lot of heavy racks and HVAC equipment etc. Believe it or not the weight of all that stuff can be a consideration.
YEah. Seems more like As usual it's a man who couldn't accept that he's not the master of the universe, or cope with the fact that a girl just might not be into him...
Well, Left 4 Dead 2 is now in Beta on steam with a Linux client. Played it a few times recently on Mint and - other than the lack of competition - it's quite nice. Gameplay seems on par with the windows version, possibly better if you consider that it doesn't crap itself when alt-tabbing.
It's was released in late '09, so between 3-4 years old. It's also still one of the common games played at LAN parties etc
Sadly, we likely won't see a huge amount of the good old games ported, but with a lot of the newer engines being cross-platform I could see new stuff coming out available on 'nix.
Well, even going back to Brahm, Dracula was less powerful in daylight but didn't necessarily kill him, it just reduced his strength and made him unable to use some powers (such as transformation, etc).
Still, he certainly didn't freakin' sparkle in the sunlight.
How about those of the person in line in-front-of/behind me? If I have a receipt showing I paid for something via debit and Visa also charged me, I'm probably good. How do I show that I didn't pay for what was actually Bob's groceries?

Because they can't afford them?
No seriously, envy is quite often a strong source of dislike in such situations.

Maybe if the lemons were mixed with certain illicit substances.
Heck, that would probably make it very popular in Hollywood...

That was actually my point. They're playing the victim in order to try and get permission to [further] victimize the rest of society.
It's ironic and sad at the same time.
draconian DRM & no used game sales
Draconian DRM & a cut of all used game sales in perpetuity.

I need to *ahem* review these in my chambers to determine their authenticity. Let's take a brief half-hour recess
They're not the victims. We are.
Somebody register "xboxonesucks.com." If it's anything like the early 360 there will be plenty of feedback for it shortly after launch...
Maybe not a black & decker, but you'd better be careful about leaving plumber's supplies in your truck.

Yes, so it was a more twisted/sick murder than usual.
However, it's not any worse than this murder in Canada, and that wasn't terrorism either.

though I usually turn the bluetooth off at night
Can this be set on a schedule or does it require manual intervention?
