i think outsourcing is just a short sighted answer to make a quick buck. if you continue to outsource the work who's going to buy your product? is hp going to sell computers in india? i'm sure all the CEO's that outsource are getting big bonuses for cutting cost.
It's congress. They made it so the local telco that owns the wires have to sell service it to other companies at low prices. So why should the local telco that owns the wire improve it? they can't pass the cost along to the other companies getting a free ride thanks to congress.
is PCI express the answer? no. neither is PCI-X:) something serial will be better and faster. can you wait or will PCI Express do untill then? i think i can wait, we'll see. i don't think this is a forced upgrade cycle. i think it's just that new ideas come up faster then they, the companies, can implement the older ones.

let me say how much i enjoy your show. and you book. i just gave a copy to my sister in law as a gift and she loves it too. My question is how do you feel about the move toward genetically engineered foods. are you in favor of it and do you see, if it continues, new metods of preparing genetically engineered foods in the future?

i don't watch commercial tv. so i don't care what they do. i watch only cable and dvds :) all on my computer because i don't own a tv set.
Most people will do something if it makes them money. i guess there's more money in power tools then trains.....hmm..amtrak comes to mind right now..
