  1. Re:CDs are still readable on Best Way To Store Digital Video For 20 Years? · · Score: 0

I believe you're thinking of master to production CD/DVD. Because of the process used to create CDs and DVDs from a master they are much more durable. Store purchased blank CDs and DVD that you burn in a drive at home however are far less durable and the data can decay in as little as 5 years.

You know.. I love firefox, and I will continue to use it until something else just makes more sense. But you have to be fair to microsoft. Several products have been called "innovative" simply for combining good features created by competitors. I must say though that they could have raised instead of calling, but maybe they don't think they have a good hand. :D

This could be solved with a simple delay between when the page is done loading and the button changes. You could even make it unclickable during that time period. But the basic concept of combining them is a good idea. You never need to stop after the page is done loading.. so what's the point of having a grey'd button 90% of the time?

I must say, just because you picked up the "popular media" definition of the word "hacker" 20 years ago and everyone else on the planet is as clueless as you are doesn't mean your definition is right. Perhaps you need to be reeducted:

    hacker1 Pronunciation Key (hkr)
    n. Informal

    1. One who is proficient at using or programming a computer; a computer buff.
    2. One who uses programming skills to gain illegal access to a computer network or file.
    3. One who enthusiastically pursues a game or sport: a weekend tennis hacker.

For clarification, when you read definition two, don't skip over the words "USES PROGRAMMING SKILLS"... next time, use a dictionary before you go spouting off your ignorance.

You know, I've never understood the mad rush to see a given film the instant it's released...it's a movie..it'll keep...it's not like it'll go bad like milk or something if you don't view it within a given time period.

Or turn into cheese for that matter.

I think the point everyone is failing to miss is that the university was obviously able to catch his plagierism. He was doing it for three years, yet no consequences. Is it a coincidence that the school was making money off him and they have a motive for waiting until his senior year to can him? I think not.
